Lovely staff and spacious bathroom
Double bed was a little small for us but that’s our preference
Great service from a lovely team
Nothing!
Very nice public space. Comfortable rooms. Great ambience
Full breakfast was a little on the small side though tasty
Breakfast was nice. Had to keep asking for things, staff busy setting empty tables, not replenishing basic breakfast items. Continental breakfast very very basic.
More staff, they were pleasant, but appeared over worked, breakfast was nice, but to continually ask for basic breakfast items to be replenished is not right.
Good quality hotel
Nothing in particular although breakfast not as good as in the past
Väldigt trevligt hotell i en liten by med närhet till många golfbanor. Superfräscht hotell med trevlig och serviceminded personal.
Decor
Lovely hotel and friendly staff
Room a little small but comfortable
The hotel is situated in a picturesque setting and the interior and exterior is really lovely. I was left delicious shortbread in the room and found it to be a fairly quiet location despite my room facing the road. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows and I loved the decor in the bathroom. I had beautifully soft towels to use and I requested an iron a few days prior which was there when I checked in, which I was grateful for. Although breakfast was a bit slow (it was very busy), I wasn’t in a rush so this was fine and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was really nice. Bar staff were also really warm and chatty when I had a drink in the garden with friends. Good location for a wedding I was attending nearby.
When I arrived, there wasn’t anyone on reception so I had to go looking (overheard someone at breakfast say they hadn’t seen anyone on reception much). Unfortunately my key card didn’t work on the first go so I had to come back down to get this fixed. Neither of these things are a big deal, but I thought an apology and a warmer welcome would have helped as I’d just had a 7 hour journey to get there. I found this receptionist (think she was Aussie) to be quite frosty in general; I brushed it off initially until I had friends witness the same thing the next day and mention it to me despite me not bringing it up. Room was smaller than I was expecting which was ok as it was just me alone but feel it would have been cramped for two people. There was nowhere to hang the towels so it could do with a couple of hooks or a little shelf above the toilet to put things, as the surfaces were limited in both the bathroom and bedroom (coffee machine sits on a bedside table for example). Plugs by the desk can’t be used as they don’t fit, unless you’re just plugging in via a USB cable. I also didn’t find my room to be overly clean - dusty in places and needed another quick vacuum. Overall I had a fairly nice stay and the hotel is stylish, but felt it was overpriced.
Great staff and location
This is the dream small Scottish hotel. Everything is done so well, the bed and linen are exceptional, bathroom with L'Occitane products is just perfect. Welcome home made shortbread, excellent Nespresso with lots of pods and milk supplies. The outdoor bar is just lovely and I spent lots of time there as we had gorgeous weather. Properly dog friendly too. Food standards really high with everything I had more than meeting high expectations. The team of staff are super friendly and helpful. I found this to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in Scotland :relaxed luxury done perfectly. Location is also superb with local bus service on the street for visiting nearby attractions. Cannot recommend highly enough!
