Nice resort in a nice location with helpful staff

Property central Skardu. Approx 5 mins walk to start of commercial area. Market is 10 mins walk. The staff at Golden Ibex are so good. Very helpful and friendly. I recommend you stay at this hotel/guest house

I liked the location of the guest house

I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago when my flight from Skardu got cancelled, and I found it at the last minute for a very reasonable price. I had a great experience then, so I decided to book it again — and to my surprise, they actually remembered me!

Initially, I wasn’t happy with the room, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and switched it right away without any fuss. Everyone was genuinely kind and welcoming throughout my stay.

The location is perfect — not close to the airport, but right in the city center, which means you’re surrounded by local eateries and shops. It’s also very budget-friendly, which makes it a great value for the experience.

One of the highlights is definitely the garden view during breakfast — such a peaceful and beautiful start to the day.

Highly recommended if you're looking for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality without breaking the bank.

Don't know from where should I start. But lets try to give this place a review what it truly deserves.
I m Salman from Lahore and I visited Skardu for the first time ever with my family of 4. Had no prior experience, relation or any guidance regarding Skardu as no close friend of mine visited it. Fortunately I found this property on Booking.com in a very reasonable price with no other property offering this price which had verified reviews from Foriegners. As soon as i booked it on Booking.com, Engr Tahir (Owner of the resthouse) messaged me on my Whatsapp and guided me each and everything in detail regarding all the tour itinerary. He guided everything in detail, & after talking to him I had this feeling of trusting this guy blindly as he talked in a very friendly manner. I took a leap of faith by completely relying on him & came to Skardu where Tahir bhai came to pick up on his personal car.
Keeping everything aside, the hospitality of the whole team of Golden Ibex Guest House which includes Mr Tahir, Mr Jaffar, Mr Arif and Mr Abid was of the highest level which anyone cant even imagine of.
The rates of Room and rent a car offerred to us by Tahir bhai was lowest in whole Skardu and were worth every penny.
Rooms were comfortable, 24/7 support by Abid,Arif,Jaffar bhai was no greater than a blessing and we faced no issue. They even sourced a big heater known as (Bukhari) and made sure we stayed comfortable. High Speed WIFI and Hot water availability all the time was outstanding.
Jaffar Bhai had been super hospitable as he was our travel guide too during the sight seeings. He literally arranged Skardu local traditional dishes welcome for us in his house and made sure not a single inconvenience is caused to us.
I would blindly recommend to go for this rest house for this awesome experience. The amount of love, comfort and hospitality we recieved from here is something we would miss it our whole life. <3

The Building and the host have been amazing ! They know a lot what to do in the surroundings, are very helpful. In the evening they provided a bonfire which made the stay even nicer

Baig and his team were so welcoming and made my stay great. Room was comfortable and the area was a short distance away from the main street. Would recommend!

Tahir & Abid are wonderful hosts who will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. The warm water is great when electricity is available. The host keep the WIFI available at all times through their use of solar. WIFI speed is very good. The hosts also serve as tour guides, drivers, or rented me a motorcycle when I requested.

Everything is fine, Tahir, the owner of the facility, is an exceptionally helpful and obliging person. If you want, he will organize a trip around the area on his motorcycle or car. Hospitality above standard, I definitely recommend it to future guests.

Wonderfully kind and helpful hosts. Great value for money and delicious breakfast. Also great location and a very nice quiet garden. WiFi is reliable. Safe place to store bikes.

It was a good and calm location

We are so happy to have found this hotel! Our room was bright, clean and had a beautiful view towards the garden. The garden has tables and chairs where you can relax and look at the mountains around - it was a pleasant refuge from the dust and hustle of Skardu. There is hot water and solar power which provides stable electricity and Wi-Fi connection, in spite of the often unreliable electricity of the city. And last but not least, the host is extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. He made sure we have whatever we needed, and was altogether a lovely presence throughout our stay. As we had to stay longer in Skardu doing research, and my partner’s diet often makes it difficult to find food options at local restaurants, the host kindly offered us to use the kitchen and provided us with whatever we needed to prepare food. Long story short, we felt right at home.
