Brilliant host, we loved our authentic stay in the Old City of Mardin.
Pros:

Staff - Ridvan absolutely made our trip! What a great guy. Thanks to Ridvan, we had the best trip in Mardin. We got an authentic experience and couldn’t thank him enough for his warm hospitality.
Views - absolutely stunning views from the room over the plains and of the old city of Mardin.
Bed - beds were comfortable and room had aircon.
Wifi - I saw comments about it not reaching the room but this wasn’t the case for us.. it all worked fine in the room & on the shared terrace.
Authentic - we feel we got a real representation of life in the old city of Mardin. It’s a drive away from the new city so bare that in mind if you’re aiming to visit both. Local buses (Dolmus) link the two so you can visit both. If you are looking for a 5* polished stay then this isn’t the place for you but if you’re after a more rustic and authentic stay then this fits that.

Cons:

Just a watch out that there are some steep steps to access the property walking up from the main section of the old city as the property is located in the hillside. This wasn’t a problem for us and makes for some of the best views but just wanted to point out as could be an issue for some people.

Excellent value for money and absolutely worth it.
Pros:

Some of the reviews are unnecessarily harsh, especially the complaints about the street, the entrance and the stairs. Personally, I liked that this small pension feels much more authentic than some of the more polished museum like hotels in Mardin. Yes, you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs to get there, but that is pretty much the whole point of the town, the views and the terraced houses. The stairs really aren’t that bad, and there are plenty of hotels higher up. The main street is only about three minutes away, and the owner can pick up heavy luggage by car if you don’t want to carry it. From what I saw, the rooms weren’t especially humid either, at least not beyond what you would normally expect in a traditional stone house in Mardin in summer. The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the rooms, which is worth knowing. But do you really need to spend the evening in bed watching Netflix?

Pros:

ホストのRıdvan氏が非常に親切で、献身的。アーリーチェックインに快く対応してくれただけでなく、道を間違えてしまった私たちが宿に無事に辿り着けるよう、公共交通機関と電話で交渉してくれたり、山の麓まで車で迎えに来たりしてくれた。チェックイン後も無料でティータイムをセッティングしてくれるなど、本当に良い意味で宿泊価格と不釣り合いなホスピタリティがあった。
ロケーションも素晴らしく、主要なスポットには大体徒歩10分以内でリーチでき、すぐ裏には小さな売店もある。眺望も周辺の展望台以上に良く、屋上からは旧市街とシリアに続く大平野を一望できた。
部屋は建物相応に年季が入っており、ドアの建付けが悪かったりもしたが、この価格帯のホテルであれば至って普通のレベルであった。清潔感もあり、エアコンや冷蔵庫もきちんと動くので、設備で困ったことも全くない。
ありがとうございました。

Cons:

強いて言うなら、室内は電波が悪く、wifiも途切れ途切れになってしまうこと。テラスに出たり、窓際に行ったりすれば解決する。

Pros:

- The hotel is located high on the town and the view from the room was one I cannot easily forget!! Just for this view i would book again tomorrow!
- The staff (owners?) were extremely helpful and friendly!

Cons:

The entrance to the hotel as well as the room/bathroom themselves were a bit rough around the edges..

Pros:

The owner is very kind, nice and helpful as a person. But he doesn't really seem to be very professional as a hotel owner, cause the building is old (as every other in old town Mardin, that's why a lot of care is needed) and there's very little maintenance put on it, if any.

Cons:

The room was bright and big but it looked nothing like the one I had booked on the app. We found the door open upon arrival and a lot of flies flying over the bed. It was hard to find the place but the owner was helpful and very fast in replying on WhatsApp. During the night, though, it's very hard to walk back because the street was very dark and a part of it was blocked by debris of a fallen building. Sadly we ended up paying without spending not even one night in the room cause my boyfriend has asthma and couldn't breath properly due to the poor air quality. There was deep black mold in the hallway towards the bathroom, not very human-friendly especially if you have existing health issues.

Забронировала номер в аутентичном стиле из камня.
По приезду хозяин указал нам на номер сверху, сказав, что это лучший его номер, что уже навело на мысль. Поднявшись - убедились, что это не то, что было на картинке. Да, вид красивый, но номер и его обородувание совершенно не стоят тех денег, которые мы заплатили. Вид на долину видно и так, если подняться вверх по лестнице в городе. Я указала на то, что хочу номер, который был на картинке. Хозяин чуть ли не с насмешкой сказал, что если мы хотим исторический номер (который мы вообще-то забронили по картинке!!), то мы его получим. Убирался он в нем, пока мы ожидали на терассе. Зайдя в темный номер, мы конечно согласились с ним и пошли гулять, так как и так было потрачено уже огромное количество времени ни на что!!! По приходу увидели, что весь номер в ЧЕРНОЙ плесени!!! О чем нам конечно не было сказано, но стало понятно, почему хозяин так себя вел.
Просто ужасно, я так мечтала попасть в этот город и насладиться его атмосферой, забронировала номер совсем не дёшево, а в итоге…первое впечатление о городе - отель с черной плесенью

Pros:

An ultra friendly owner guided me to his place. The location is great, easy parking on the road and few steps down to the hotel.

It’s a truely Mardin ancient house with unbeatable view to Syria.
