The people here are lovely. They really want the best for their clients. It’s clean and most everything is done well. Genuine staff. Thanks so much.
The corridor outside my room, 17, bounced me up and down when people walked around.
Everything was great. Friendly, knowledgeable staff; facility VERY clean and hospitable.
Location was a bit removed from town but I knew that going in to it.
Crew over there is outstanding :)
Some of the staffs were exceptionally good.
One staff did not communicate about the costs before hand.
There were at least four choices each day with breakfast and I never felt dissatisfied. The Lodge is not central, but within a reasonable walking distance, with The Victory Pub, Shorty's Restaurant/cafe and Rosie's cafe in the area.
Had no problems and all staff very approachable.
Wanted simple and low-key, and that’s what I found. The dorm-style accommodation is my preference because the people staying are of similar persuasion: desiring simple, clean, comfortable, and casual space, with no formality or set schedules. Much like university dorm life: walking the hall in pajamas, going to breakfast in slippers. The showers and toilets were kept immaculate. Laundry, packed lunches, notices, were punctually delivered. I was on first-name hello with the staff from check-in to check-out. It was pleasant to sit in the cafeteria and chat with local working people: farmers, fishermen, construction workers, and get the skinny on day-to-day life. Lookout Lodge is adjacent the only service station in town and the only ATM in town: a supper plus. And, Rose’s Cafe.”, also adjacent, is a very pleasant space for morning coffee and cake.
The Lodges was host to many seasonal fishermen at the time. They would arrive at night and unwind in the central courtyard around the two picnic benches. One happened to be beneath my window, which I liked to have open at night. My first night I experienced 2nd hand cigarette smoke. It was after midnight but I went out and asked that anyone smoking please do so away from my window. Very apologetically, the smokers moved to the other table: away from my window. Next morning Stuart, the manager, moved the table away from my window. My window was left open for the remaining 3 days of my stay without any 2nd hand smoke issues. Problem encountered, problem solved: simply and quickly. That the fishermen were sincerely apologetic and quickly moved away from my window is typical of the friendly and “hakuna matata” vibe at The Lodges”
Incredibly friendly staff that were very welcoming. The accommodation was spotless and the included breakfast was tasty.
I didn't realise that I had to bring shower gel. But I suppose this is my fault!
Excellent location and amazing staff
The room was a little on the small side but perfectly functionable
Everywhere was spotless. Great facilities. Shared toilets and showers. Excellent water pressure. Comfortable private single room. Nice and quiet at night. I slept really well here.
The staff were all friendly and exceptionally helpful in booking tours and arranging transport. It is difficult to organise everything in the Falklands before you arrive, but the staff were able to help and advise me once I arrived.
Good hearty beakfast included. Cooked to order.
About 10 minutes walk into Stanley, next to the services which has the only ATM and close to a supermarket. Strong wifi which can be purchased.
Nothing.
The location is a little out of Stanley, about a 20/30 minute walk from the main town area. The check-in was easy, the staff are very polite & friendly and always helpful. The rooms are small and basic but very comfortable and warm. The room was clean, bed comfortable and bedding fresh, plenty of wardrobe and CoD space for clothes, etc. You have to remember where you are so the WiFi is expensive and signal poor, I was there for 7 nights so purchased a £30/24 hour prepaid Internet access card which was more than enough. I wasn't there to watch TV but it didn't receive a decent signal to be able to watch it anyway. The toilets and showers are campsite style, down the main corridor from the rooms, always spotless and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was always good, plenty of choice, full English, tea and coffee, toast, cereals, etc and set me up for the days hikes. The front desk staff are very helpful and arranged a battlefield tour for me, I had a choice of 3, various prices to choose from, I picked Tony Smith and would recommend him, he is an expert.
The Falkland Islands are very windy and the shutters on the window rattled constantly. The only way to sleep was with them fully open. Even with ear plugs I still heard them rattling.
