As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay at Alta Vista
Pros:

We enjoyed the central location, good view of Ella and the surrounding. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms and facilities were clead and they had a large and fresh pool.

Cons:

There is a dining area, but a more defined cafe/serving area would have added to the experience.

Prettig verblijf gehad
Pros:

Ruimtelijke kamers en zwembad, goede matrassen. Dichtbij leuke cafés en restaurants.

Cons:

Niet sfeervol, alles is behoorlijk gedateerd, ze hebben een fantastische locatie om er ook echt wat van te maken maar ze hebben niks met de aankleding gedaan. Je stapt mbt je kamer de tijd in van 30 jr geleden zeker. Het sanitair is wel vernieuwd. Wel iedere keer een behoorlijk stijle heuvel op er te komen maar dat weet je.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft ist top, das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und die Bedienung war hervorragend. Ein besonderes Dankeschön an Yogesh, Dinithi, Sandaehaya, Kijay und Philip – ihr wart alle sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit und habt unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pros:

Excellent location, right in the heart of Ella and close to all restaurants and services. Delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. The owner was really caring and gave us recommendations and arranged transport for us. Laundry was done in a record time.
Highly recommend the place!

Family stay close to action but quiet
Pros:

We wanted a nice place to stay for our family of four (2 teenagers) that was walking distance to the main town area but also quiet enough at night to rest. This accomodation delivered exactly what we needed. Located on the main street in the middle of everything but up a long slope driveway from the road it provided quiet in the rooms although there was plenty of action in the street. The adjoining rooms we requested were able to be provided and were clean, spacious, and provided great views over the surrounds. The bonus was that Alta Vista had recently completed installing a new spacious pool which was not currently advertised. This provided a great relaxing area and views of the town. The staff were very attentive to our needs and requests (including different breakfast eating times across the family). The breakfast was substanial and worth the cost, although there were plenty of alternative options available in the town if wanted.

Cons:

Walking up and down the steep driveway was a bit of a chore and hard work in the heat if carrying day bags, water etc, but vehciles and tuk tuks can access to the top if needed.

Great rooms, difficult to reach but great staff and service
Pros:

The rooms were very big and the view is amazing from the balcony. Washroom is pretty big and clean as well. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good so do include it in your stay while booking.

Cons:

Although the location of the hotel is on the main Ella street but reaching the hotel is very difficult. Firstly there is only 1 sign which is visible from the road but then there are no directions to the hotel. The way to the hotel is a 5-7 minutes steep 35 degree climb. So if you have luggage and do not have a vehicle then- “all the best”. Also do remember to ask for rooms on the lower floors like 501/502 coz 601/602 & 701/702 are on 2nd and 3rd floor which is again a very difficult hike.
