A great place to stay when visiting Tahquamenon Falls and the UP

Comfortable bed and good breakfast
Pros:

The beds are comfortable.
Breakfast is very good.
The 24/7 availability of treats and beverages is a plus.
The lobby is comfortable.
The desk and chair in the room were comfortable and good for laptop work.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the heater in this room was either on and way too hot (upper 70 at least), or off and way too cold (in the low 60 or lower). There was no way to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. There was also outside air coming in a large gap above the heating unit, and it was exceptionally cold outside. - 14 F.

When I arrived, the heat in the room was completely off. I was headed out for a couple of hours, so I was able to turn the heater on and warm up the room before I returned. If I had arrived and wanted to stay in the room, it would have been very uncomfortable for about an hour.

The sink in this room, and the tub in a nearby room during a previous stay, were very slow to drain, to the point that there was standing water for quite some time. This is not pleasant.

The food, the gift shop, snacks, and the facility was clean and reasonably comfortable

Cons:

Noise from either a stairwell or people on the 2nd floor. Sounded like banging on a wall or floor

It was a comfortable stay at a reasonable rate
Pros:

Was pleasantly surprised with a variety of breakfast items available. The only thing that wasn't available was some fresh fruit that would have been nice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Wish it would have been some fresh fruit available at the breakfast. The side door to get in and out from the parking lot had a keypad but evidently it never locked .I did check with the staff about it. I was thinking that maybe it locked at a certain time at night . I was told that was not the case.

Our group had a good time in the area and the hotel met our needs very well.
Pros:

did not have breakfast at the hotel. The hotel location was central to what our group wanted to see and do in the area (day trips). The hotel was clean.

Cons:

The bathroom light wouldn't always turn on. There was a planned power outage the first morning we were staying and information about whether we would still have water available during the outage was not known or immediately available.
