Wonderful Host and so homely
Pros:

Not 5 star but the price (so reasonable) reflects that and probably the most comfortable bed in the world!! I never sleep more than a few hours but I slept solidly for 8 hours. I was also made to feel so welcome, I had coffee and snacks provided - what a wonderful host. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Cons:

Parking was a small challenge but I did arrive in the evening.

Pros:

The lady owner was very helpful with showing me how to get to my appointment, and the facilities were lovely .I would definitely stay there again if the need arose

Nice place to stay in Harpenden
Pros:

Comfy clean room in a nice house and the lady who owns the property was very friendly and welcoming. The house is in a quiet residential area, but there were a couple of pubs, some shops, restaurants etc within easy walking distance.

If you find nothing else...
Pros:

Very nice landlady, helpful, even took me to the station. Connections to London are good.

Cons:

This not an hotel not even an inn. It is a private house at the outside of Harpenden. You can use some of the bedrooms. Very basic no hot showers. So even with the low prize (for Greater London) it is not realy worth it.

A lovely friendly welcome
Pros:

Such a lovely friendly host who went out of her way to look after us. We had been walking all day so a hot bath was just the thing! She walked us down the road to an excellent Indian takeaway and set us up to eat dinner at her table. Thank you so much

I felt a bit unsettled because of not being able to go out when I wanted to.
Pros:

My ‘hostess’/ owner of property seemed welcoming and gave cold drinks on arrival together with slippers to wear. The property was clean and my room was pleasant.

Cons:

My key would not pull out of the front door again when I tried to leave the property. Once I’d unlocked the door from the inside (which was originally locked) the key would not ‘pull out’ for me to be able to lock the property from the outside and take the key with me. Because the lady who lived there had gone out when I was asleep (and I was the only guest), I couldn’t leave otherwise the property would have been left open unattended and at risk of theft. This left me feeling quite unsettled. I had to wait for the lady to come back before I was able to leave.

Nice spare room in house on edge of Harpenden
Pros:

Nice room with a comfortable bed and good spread of breakfast cereals, hot drinks and snacks. Host was friendly and very amenable.

Cons:

Unfortunately the shower didn't work when we were there but the rest of the house was nice.
