Literally the kindest, funniest, most helpful staff that you'll probably meet on your travels. The girls at the desk went above and beyond to help me and others out, offering more than what's expected from a hostel.
The rooms were spacious and side tables were provided, allowing you to feel properly set up when staying here. The balconies on each floor also afforded a great view of the area.
Best of all there was a friendly hostel cat who can even sleep or nap in bed with you. Loved it!
The hostel is a bit further out from town than other options, but not by much. The only downside is the steep hill and multiple stairs to your room that can be rough after a day of hiking.
Shuttle services to the bus station are provided upon request at arrival and departure though, which is useful!
Showers were a bit hit or miss on water pressure, but bathrooms otherwise what's to be expected at a hostel.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! I loved the shuttle service into town. The dorms are pretty spacious, you even get a bedside table and the curtain provides privacy. The balcony has a great view. Breakfast is alright.
The bathrooms are almost always wet because when you take a shower the whole toilet gets soaked as well. For that many people using it I think it should get cleaned more than once a day. Also don't book a tour at the hotel.
The room was very clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the mountains. The location was excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the town center, and having a parking spot directly on the hotel premises was very convenient. The staff was friendly and kind throughout our stay. Breakfast was nice and varied, and the bathroom was well equipped, including a tool to dry the floor after showers, which was very practical. The room also had coffee and tea facilities. A special mention goes to the hotel cat, Yen Yen – such a sweet and friendly cat who even visited us in the room and kept us company. It made the stay even more memorable.
There was no small fridge in the room. However, thanks to the fresh weather, we were still able to keep our drinks reasonably cool, so it wasn’t a major issue.
Exceptional Birthday Surprise: The front desk was incredibly accommodating! They decorated our room for my wife’s birthday with rose petals on the bed and floor, beautiful swan towels, and even mood lighting. It made the stay feel truly romantic and special.
Stunning Views: The view we were promised was worth every bit of the drive. Looking out over the valley and the Tanah Rata township was breathtaking.
Perfect Natural Climate: Even though there is no AC, the natural mountain air was perfectly cold and refreshing, no artificial cooling was needed at all.
Decent Breakfast Spread: The buffet was quite acceptable with a good variety, ranging from cereals, omelets, and toast to salads, fruits, and local kuih-muih.
The "Main Winner" - Yenyen: The highlight of our stay was definitely Yenyen, the hotel cat! Chubby, adorable, and extremely "manja," Yenyen melts the heart of anyone who stays here. We truly fell in love with our new feline friend! ❤️
Room Comfort: The tiled floors were uncomfortably cold to walk on; adding carpets or rugs would significantly improve the coziness of the room. Additionally, the TV positioning was poor, it was mounted too high and not aligned with the bed, making it difficult to watch comfortably.
Privacy Issues: While I appreciated that the balcony barriers were closed for privacy, there are still visible gaps that allow neighbors to peep through. This needs a more seamless design to ensure total privacy.
Lighting: There was a noticeable lack of lighting throughout the property at night, which felt inconvenient and potentially unsafe.
Dining: The breakfast buffet ends a bit early; it would be much better if the service was extended until 10:00 AM to accommodate guests who prefer a slower morning.

The location, staff and service is truly wonderful. The view from the room was beautiful. Pickup and drop was unexpected but it made our stay even more comfortable. Would love to visit this property again.

The location on top of the mountain. Scary driving.
- Ruhige Lage außerhalb des Stadtzentrums. Man ist jedoch in 10 Minuten dort, wo Restaurants und Shops sind. Zu beachten ist, dass das Hotel auf einem Hügel liegt, wohin nur eine steile Straße führt. Wir wurden aber freundlicherweise mit dem Hotelvan vom Busbahnhof abgeholt.
- Unser Zimmer war sauber und einfach eingerichtet. Der Balkon mit Stühlen und Tisch war schön.
- Es gibt Frühstück im Hotel. Allerdings darf man nicht zu viel erwarten. Man wird satt. Es soll zwar ab 7 Uhr Frühstück geben, aber wenn man um 7:30 kommt, ist noch nicht alles aufgebaut.
- Im Badezimmer gibt es keinen Duschvorhang, sodass man beim Duschen das Badezimmer flutet. Leider hat auch das Waschbecken geleckt.
- Das WiFi war leider sehr schlecht. Wir hatten zum Glück eigene Daten.

Spacious, regular shuttles to town
Breakfast wasn’t on time our 2nd day so therefore we missed it as to check out
A wonderful place with great views from the balcony (open for everyone). Amazingly helpful and kind stuff that was always there to support. Shuttle service that takes you to/from the bus station for free, and also drops you off in the town if you want to on any given day. Good breakfast available for 15 MYR. Overall highly recommendable.
