Absolutely nothing
Everything. Instead of charging me via booking.com they have charged me on site and added 8% for the tax.
There was no lift and the staircase was so narrow we couldn’t even take our luggage up to the room. They said there is no one that can help with the bag. The place was dirty, the air conditioner didn’t work, the wifi didn’t work, and the noise from the street was terrible

Badkamer is echt heel erg klein.
Very clean and tidy. Friendly staff and great location.
Precisely because of the good location, it is very noisy, Specially during the weekend. But you can use earplugs and solve the problem. Also bathroom was outside of the room and sometimes is not the best.
De locatie was goed. Centraal in Hanoi
- Het ligt in een souvenierwinkel. Toen we aankwamen konden we niet eerder inchecken en moesten onze koffers in de winkel blijven staan. Toen we een keer rond half 12 thuis kwamen was de winkel dicht. We hebben toen een kwartier buiten moeten wachten en 10x gebeld tot de portier de deur open kwam doen. Niet zo fijn als het laat is op straat!
- De badkamer is echt te klein. Je moet douchen boven het toilet of de wasbak. Alles wordt nat waardoor de rest praktisch onbruikbaar is.
- Er is zwarte schimmel op de kamer. En mega veel stof.
- Winkelpersoneel herkent je niet waardoor je vaker raar wordt aangekeken als je in 1x doorloopt.
Ik zou de accommodatie absoluut niet aanbevelen.
The main highlight is definitely the location — it’s very central and perfectly situated for exploring Hanoi’s Old Quarter
However, there are several downsides to be aware of. The place is extremely noisy, so if you have trouble falling asleep or are sensitive to sound, this might not be the right choice for you. Also, access to the property is through a shop, which means that between 10 PM and the shop’s opening hours in the morning, getting in and out can be inconvenient.
Another point to note is the bathroom setup. It is located outside the room, on an upper floor, with the shower right next to the toilet, which may not be ideal for everyone.
Very good location, right in the centre and can get everywhere by walking!
As it’s in the centre it does get very noisy at night. Bathroom is located externally up some very steep stairs.
The staff were helpful especially with the bags and questions. Close to shops.
No soundproofing so not good for light sleepers and you can hear motorbikes beeping in the early mornings.
No lift so you have to take the stairs to get to rooms and bathroom. Separate private bathroom had a combined shower & toilet so it’s very small and a bit dangerous to navigate from the bathroom to the room via stairs.
Great location! They were also a big help when we forgot something in the homestay and were even willing to send it to us!
Great location and surprisingly quiet when balcony door closed! Big comfortable bed and pleasant room . Great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Super Zentral im Old Quarter gelegen. Einfacher Zugang durch einen Souvenir Laden 😄
Unbedingt ohrstöpsel/Oropax einpacken, denn die Isolierung nach außen ist mäßig und die Straße bis in die späten Nachtstunden laut und ab morgens beginnt dann das für Vietnam typische hupkonzert. Die Dusche ist über der Toilette angebracht. Nach dem duschen ist der komplette Boden nass.

La salle de douche ( obligé de passer dans l’escalier commun pour y aller) et la salle de douche étant très petite pas facile d’ emmener des vêtements sans qu’il soit mouillé.

Impossible de dormir !!! Du bruit et des cris jusqu’à 3h du matin passé. L’accès aux chambres se fait par le fond de la boutique où le passage fait 50-55cm à tout casser. Attention si vous avez des gros sacs ou valise ! La douche est au dessus du toilette et à 10 cm de la vasque de la salle de bain !
La propreté est à revoir également.
Les filles pour nous accueillir devaient gérer également les clients de la boutique : donc pas vraiment disponible. Nous sommes partis 1 jour avant (en ayant réglé tant pis!) car insupportable !
Je n’ai pas compris les commentaires positifs de l’établissement.
Bien peut être pour des jeunes qui cherchent à faire la fête au centre ville uniquement !
We’ve stayed in many hotels and homestays, but Mimosa Homestay is easily at the top of our list. The room was lovely, well-laid-out, and surprisingly spacious, with an exceptional level of cleanliness that we really appreciated.
The location is truly perfect. It’s situated right in the Old Quarter, only 300m away from some of the busiest bars and restaurants. Despite being so close to the action, the room was remarkably quiet at night, allowing for a great night's sleep. We also loved the balcony; while small, it’s a fantastic spot to relax and watch the vibrant street life below.
For my wife and me, this will be our first choice when we return to Hanoi. We probably won’t even look at other options—it really is that good!
