I liked everything about the castle great surrounding great staff food, rooms and very peaceful
Food was good clean and tidy staff great
The building is stunning without question. Well preserved and looks great
The bathroom basin had hairs in it when we arrived. Some side lights don’t work and the side bed side lockers were full of dust Room 229
The staff bar staff have no personality whatsoever. Very efficient very effective but no smile no engagement with customers. The management of the staff were awful severe again no personality very busy but no engagement. I tried hard to engage but staff were afraid to express their feelings as management were watching them closely.
The food was only ok. The chowder was tasteless compared to other chowders. The burger looked so lonely on a plate. A bit of salad would give it presentation.
The gardens were lovely but too small.
The food was great
The history.... when we found it. More could be made of history and connections such as Brian Boru, and spending a night in a Castle
A pool would be great, and maybe a small spa.
quite expensive
contemporary art
Das Feeling, unbeschreiblich schönes Hotel!
Great location, well appointed common areas, clean room
Limited tv channels, bed bit lumpy
Amenities & parking were great.

The location and the setting was beautiful. A lovely modern building whilst being very mindful to protect the original building. Plenty of parking .
The staff are barely friendly. The food service was good , however my wife and I ordered room service late after arriving back from a concert, nothing complicated, 2 chicken mayo sandwiches and 2 cups of tea. They arrived at our room under silver covers, toasted- burnt black toast. We had no choice but to eat them as we were starving also the tea was cold ( 2 cups with teabags, not a pot which would have been the better way to present.) all for €31.30. The breakfast buffet was good and well presented and also reasonably priced. We had booked a taxi to take us to a concert which was taken by other guests leaving us late to attend the concert. Guest services weren't able to offer any advice on how to get back to the hotel. Tip: if using Taxis in Dublin you have to book through Free Now App. As it's now impossible to hail one on the street.
Just beauty everywhere you turn
Short stay
It was a full buffet and very clean
We chose this hotel because of its history and location close to the airport. It is in an exurb of Dublin, near the water. Its history of the Battle of Clontarf is interesting and the old part of the hotel is interesting. Most of the rooms are in a modern addition, there are a few rooms in the castle part but the were not available for our stay. In the end, it felt like any other hotel once we were in the room. Breakfast was a pretty good buffet, and the location was in the old part of the hotel. It did not feel that close to Dublin center, and would require a ride to get in to town. It did feel like it was located where the regular Dubliners live, in the middle of a nice residential neighborhood. The public spaces are well decorated, the rooms are just regular hotel rooms. Stay here if you are like us and have an early flight the next day
I wish there had been more tie in to the history in the rooms.
