Een teleurstellend en te commercieel verblijf met onvoldoende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding
Pros:

Het restaurant was voor ons het absolute lichtpunt. We hebben er zeer lekker gegeten en Angel, die ons bediende, was bijzonder vriendelijk, warm en attent. Zij was eigenlijk de enige medewerker die ons tijdens ons verblijf echt een welkom en persoonlijk gevoel gaf. Ook mijn spa-behandeling was aangenaam.

Cons:

Helaas voldeed het verblijf absoluut niet aan onze verwachtingen, zeker niet gezien de prijs en de viersterrenpositionering.

We hadden vooraf een upgrade gevraagd naar een kamer met jacuzzi, die slechts voor één nacht beschikbaar was. Bij aankomst hebben we de upgrade meteen betaald. Eenmaal op de kamer troffen we echter vuil beddengoed, een onfrisse geur en zand/vuil in de jacuzzi aan. Na ongeveer een uur wachten kregen we een andere kamer. Het beddengoed was daar gelukkig proper, maar ook die jacuzzi was niet schoon. Hoewel hiervoor excuses werden aangeboden, werd de betaalde upgrade niet terugbetaald en werd er verder niets aangeboden om de situatie recht te zetten.

De volgende dag verhuisden we naar onze oorspronkelijk geboekte kamer. Ook deze vonden we sterk verouderd en de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding was naar onze mening niet in overeenstemming met wat je van een viersterrenhotel in deze prijsklasse mag verwachten.

Daarnaast vonden we de algemene sfeer erg commercieel. Vanaf vóór aankomst en gedurende het verblijf kregen we voortdurend voorstellen voor bijkomende betalende diensten, zoals de spa, het museum, een game drive en champagne op de kamer. Ook de ontvangst aan de receptie voelde eerder bureaucratisch en onpersoonlijk dan hartelijk.

Tot slot ontstond bij het uitchecken opnieuw een probleem: men stelde dat via Booking slechts één nacht betaald was en rekende daarom een extra overnachting aan. We hebben vervolgens zelf de betalingen en boeking moeten uitpluizen om aan te tonen dat dit niet correct was. Het te veel betaalde bedrag werd uiteindelijk terugbetaald, maar dit zorgde opnieuw voor onnodige frustratie.

Dit hotel was bedoeld als het mooie sluitstuk van onze reis door Zuid-Afrika, maar werd helaas een van de meest teleurstellende verblijven van onze reis. Het restaurant en de spa waren goed, maar voor de kamers, service en algemene ervaring vonden wij de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding onvoldoende.

Hervorragendes Restaurant mit tollem Essen. Sehr schöne und komfortable Chalets.

Cons:

Wenn man eine Buchung mit Frühstück hat, sollte dieses mehr erfassen als nur eine Auswahl aus mehreren Frühstücksmöglichkeiten und weitere Speisen müssen gegen Bezahlung hinzugebucht werden.

Love staying with them, often go there to spend time with my partner away from the kids. Staff is absolutely amazing, food is great, beautiful hotel indeed
