Surf Villa Hiriketiya

The location is fantastic! Super clean, brilliant shower, tea etc in room, communal fridge also excellent. People running it were lovely!

We stayed 2 nights at Surf villa and it was amazing. Definitely exceeded our expectation and we are so happy we stayed here. Brand new rooms and Such amazing value for money. The rooms were very generous in size and so impeccably clean. It had everything you could need and more. Ac , indoor out door bathroom, a balcony that you can watch all the monkeys playing in the tree , tea and coffee and also the beaches Brighton your front door step. Our stay here was so lovely and we loved that it was a local family owned hotel and our host Sudhee was the most kind, helpful and amazing host. Nothing was a bother to her and she took care of something we accidentally left behind until we could get our friends to go and pick it up for us. We would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again. Thankyou ✨🫶🐢

What can I say that’s negative about Surf Villa? Honestly—nothing!
I was lucky enough to try two of their newest rooms. The first was a huge, spacious room on the first floor overlooking the rainforest. It was incredible watching monkeys swing through the trees while listening to the waves crashing both day and night. Despite being so close to the beach bars and restaurants, the room still felt quiet, peaceful, and secluded.
The lovely Sri Lankan family who run the place have clearly put enormous thought into the colour scheme and décor of these beautiful new rooms. Guest experience is obviously their top priority—they will quite literally bend over backwards to help with anything you might need during your stay.
Now let’s talk about the new first-floor oceanfront room… wow! You simply could not get any closer to the beach without actually being on it. It has a wonderful balcony that’s perfect for enjoying an evening drink after a surf while watching surfers hang ten on stunning Hiriketiya Beach. The room also features a bathtub with incredible beach views, double wash basins, new air-conditioning, and a fridge.
This place is a real find. You would be hard-pressed to find anything that rivals it for location, value for money, overall experience, and cool vibe.

Excellent location. Open door basically onto the beach. Very newly done and the owners are always around and very keen to help in person or via WhatsApp. They were very accommodating and let us in our room early and allowed us a late checkout and bags to be stored. On our checkout day after late checkout time I stood on a sea urchin and went back to the accomodation for help. Even though we were well past our stay time they immediately got someone with great English on the phone who advised me to go to a hospital and they then arranged a tuktuk driver to take me there and wait the whole time. We are very grateful for their help. We actually asked to stay longer but sadly they were fully booked.

The room is on the actual beach closer than any other facility. The owners are very polite senior couple that are very educated and nice. I would definitively go there again.

The location is perfect! You can't get any closer to the beach here. The room is to the side of the host family's house and they're always around to help out with advice and arranging activities. We booked one night here as we were unsure of our plans. We decided to stay another night in Hiriketiya and we certainly would've stayed an extra night if the room was available.

Unreal location right on Hiriketiya Beach. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful. Room alittle outdated but bed in comfortable, aircon works and bathroom is good !

The owner was the sweetest older lady and I ended up spending a whole week with her.
We would often just sit quietly together on the veranda. People watching.
She has a washing machine and if you have a couple of days with her and you ask nicely, she'll let you wash some things.

The rooms are very budget friendly and they do actually have AIRCON even though it says they don't. I'm going to show her how to change it on booking.com because I think that's why they're quiet.

The rooms are very basic. You're paying for the location. But still, for the price, the rooms are good enough.
This is an absolute bargain in my opinion.

Location was amazing, literally right across the road from an amazing beach. super convenient to get to all the restaurants etc and to go for a quick dip.
