Horizon Hotel Romblon

Insgesamt hatten wir den Eindruck, dass Service, Organisation und Kommunikation deutlich verbessert werden müssten. Das Hotel hat grundsätzlich Potenzial, aber in der aktuellen Form entspricht der Service leider nicht dem Standard, den man als Gast erwarten darf.

Abends auf der Terrasse mussten wir mehrfach aktiv auf das Personal aufmerksam machen, wenn wir noch etwas trinken wollten. Selbst nachdem wir mehrfach gerufen hatten, dauerte es lange, bis jemand reagierte. Zusätzlich wurden leere Gläser über längere Zeit nicht abgeräumt.

Beim Frühstück gab es ebenfalls mehrere Probleme. An einem Morgen sollten wir unseren Kaffee selbst mit einem Wasserkocher zubereiten. Ein anderes Mal wurde das Frühstück gar nicht geliefert, da es offenbar am Abend vorher hätte vorbestellt werden müssen, was wir vergessen hatten. Dass man hier nicht spontan ein Omelette machen kann, erstaunte uns. Besonders irritierend war zudem die inkonsistente Preisgestaltung: Für ein Toast sollten wir an einem Tag plötzlich 150 Pesos extra bezahlen, obwohl es am Tag zuvor noch im Preis enthalten war. Mal gab es Butter, mal nicht.

Das Badezimmer wurde vor unserer Ankunft nur schlecht geputzt (diverse Pflegeprodukte lagen noch herum). Das Frühstück (1x Buffet) war sehr limitiert und nicht allergiefreundlich. Die Zimmer im Keller sind dunkel und kosten eher viel.

just the stiff road but manageable

We were a little disappointed we could not see the sunset from the hotel and we would have benefitted from a talk through what the local attractions were, and how to best take advantage of our time there.
Example, we asked the hotel to organised a tricycle to a local tourist attraction, but on arrival, we discovered it was closed. We were able to grab another tricycle and asked the driver to take us to a good beach, which was beautiful, however, we wasted over an hour of our precious time on a wasted journey.
It would be great if staff were trained on more local attractions and how best to enjoy them. Like tide times, best time of day to visit, opening times etc..
With the exception of this small improvement, everything else was fantastic and we would stay again

It’s a bit noisy, they take care of the night hours but in the early morning we could hear them preparing dishes for the breakfast.

Food and drinks let me down in this hotel. Often items weren’t available but I understand that can be outside their control. Waiters service was inconsistent. Food service was very slow. We waited over 40min for breakfast - who wants to start their day that way on vacation!? There were ants in the rooms. Room decor was poor - wardrobes, side tables, desks all looked super dated and probably bought second hand. Some staff were friendly but not everyone unfortunately. Noise in the hotel was also an issue, generally not from other guests but from staff incredibly!

Unfortunately, the quality of the pool water was not good during our stay—it was cloudy and not very pleasant for swimming. We hope this issue will be resolved soon.
The price for a 1-hour massage also seems quite high, more than double what we are used to paying for massages in the Philippines.

Apart from these points, we can highly recommend this hotel.

Was all good, but there was a little confusion when booking a family room wich bookings.com
System say breakfast included.
As I booked for 2 adults and 2 children, one would expect Breakfast to be for the whole family.
Only to be told it was for the 2 adults only and not the children.
After some arguments and standing my ground we finally got a breakfast included for the whole family
. My advise for family's would be to double check to avoid stress at time of booking.
Other than this the place was lovley
