Ich würde es nicht uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!
Pros:

Pleasant hotel in a very good location
Pros:

Friendly staff, pleasant room and large ensuite. There was a fan - thank goodness as in the heatwave! Also staff had closed the curtains and opened the window to cool the room.Breakfast excellent. Plenty of room to sit in the bar in the evening. Staff coped well as a large number of people in the hotel on a coach tour.

Cons:

Room noisy as it was above the kitchen fan etc. Also one of the bedside lamps had a plug but nowhere to plug it in!

Disappointing
Pros:

Decent breakfast, very nice staff!

Cons:

The whole property looks tired and run-down. The bathtub didn't have a plug, so it was of little use. Not fixed after they came to inspect. The WiFi on the second floor was working, but unfortunately not connected to their network - so no internet and of little use. Glad we didn't splurge for the seaview rooms as the next door Veterans Hotel has loud bands (and guests) until late in the evening.

Ok for a night, good value
Pros:

Location was good right on the seafront and hotel had character

Good breakfast :)

Cons:

No parking! Although car park (paid) across the road.

Room a bit dusty and finger prints/ hand marks on mirror.

Check in time 4pm and check out time 10am bit stingy!

Good stay disappointing breakfast
Pros:

The proximity to the hoverport. Friendly and helpful staff

Cons:

The breakfast. I had a continental breakfast and there was nothing fresh on offer - fat free yoghurts, tough croissants and everything prepackaged. Coffee and tea on offer from thermoses.

Enjoyable except for the comments above.
Pros:

The room was comfortable, well equipped and clean., interesting sea view. The staff were efficient and friendly

Cons:

On the Friday night unfortunately there was a horrendous level of music coming from the Veterans Bar next door. In spite of ear plugs, closing window etc the noise was deafening until after midnight. This was repeated on a quieter level on the Saturday night, Other guests were also complaining. Although I loved the hotel itself I would be reluctant to visit again unless the situation changed or other rooms were available which are unaffected by this noise,

A lovely old building, excellent staff and good transport links.
Pros:

The location was perfect for Ryde seafront and shops. Also in the right location for bus or train transport to other locations.

Cons:

It was noisy in the evenings because there is a popular pub with live music next door. Probably just at weekends.

Great stop over spot to cycle the island. Good value, nice staff.
Pros:

perfect location for ferry over from Portsmouth, great view from room, worked really well in terms of security for cycling gear (we cycled the Isle) over night and left bags during the day. Staff looked after valuables (laptop) in office while we cycled. Perfect location and help so would stay again. Room and bathroom basic, but clean, but we had 3 men sharing one family room and it really worked fine

Cons:

Small thing, but one of our group is a PT and only wanted eggs for breakfast and hes a big eater. Chef was a little bit tight on number of eggs he was allowed to have (bearing in mind that was all he was having) ... but hey, maybe they were running out
