Lovely character property with a rich history. Staff are all friendly and it feels like home from home. The location just off the M6 made it perfect for visiting relatives.
Lovely old build lots of character.
Beautiful grounds.
Friendly helpful staff so kind nothing too much trouble.
Extremely clean rooms & a good size.
What a great small hotel, a jewel in Leyland/Farington. Loved it last year when we stayed and would definately stay again next time we are in area. Spacious room in friendly hotel set in lovely grounds.
The shower is a bit small as we pointed out when we were there. Meal was a bit disappointing with little taste in Dill sauce, certainly not up to standard of last year, has the chef changed? Neither slight criticism detracted from our stay nor put us off returning.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Had to walk up a down flights of stairs to exit the building.
The location was perfect for our needs as we were getting the train to Preston from Leyland station which was only a ten minute walk
Some improvements to small items like a wobbly toilet seat
Lovely friendly staff and good food
Nothing as everything was spot on
Nice traditional building, it's like walking into a manor with all the classic décor and high ceilings. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. I was attending a private dinner with my family for a 50th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent. Everyone in our group was very happy. The service was perfect. The room set up for our meal was perfect and looked grand.
I really needed a drink of water at night. I wish I had a bottle of water. Unfortunately the cold water tap was hot due to the heating being on.
Bar manager was great, food was just ok.
Food!
The property and surrounding landscape is beautiful with majestic trees. The dining room was perfectly arranged, with a decent atmosphere and background music. Breakfast was really, really nice. Also had a lovely evening meal. ALL the staff are a credit to the hotel sector, and really attentive and enjoy looking after you.
The room (15) was a good size with everything including coffee etc. The room was quite airy as the original Georgian sash windows don't yet have the hidden integral seals or brushes that can be fitted, so let in cold winds and noise, and lets out much of the heat during the night. A "snake" draught excluder between the top and bottom sash would save a fortune in heating and make the room feel warmer.
Friendly service.
Beautiful location and building with grounds.
Excellent decor and attractive design.
Could have small fridge in room and better tv .
The breakfast has a number of options and was served well
This company has a dreadful habit of inserting a 'service charge' when you receive your bill. It means you have to alter your approach and there is a sense of unnecessary embarrassment.
They have adequate rooms but bizarrely only place two small pillows on a large bed which makes it look like someone has borrowed the other two pillows for another room
Good location for where we needed to be, staff were helpful and breakfast was a little haphazard but good and the gardens were very pleasant
Bedroom was not clean and bed was small and not comfortable for a couple
Windows did not open not allowing any air to circulate especially on a warm or stuffy evening
There was a step up to the bathroom which was difficult to negotiate especially for older persons during the night
Breakfast included
Not clear that the booking was not pre payed
