Family event was well catered for and the reception staff were more than helpful to our requests.
Pros:

Elegant country estate in a peaceful setting. My daughter had her dog 🐶 with her and was given a large spacious pet friendly room in the coach house, it was super.

Cons:

Our family group had to wait quite a while in between courses during the evening meal and more staff especially as busy would have been welcome.

Lovely short break …. the staff really do go above and beyond!
Pros:

The staff really do go out of their way to make your stay special. We all commented on how good they were.

Cons:

We thought the set course menu in the dining room was a bit overly fussy (but perhaps that’s just us!) - otherwise we couldn’t fault the place.

Pros:

Room was very large and comfortable. We slept for 9 hours! Dinner was superb, beautifully laid out, waiting staff so accommodating. Breakfast was too much to eat. Outside seating area we enjoyed with afternoon tea.

Cons:

Nothing - this hotel has it all.

Fabulous Old Style Hotel in Suffolk.
Pros:

Great staff with attention to detail. Hotel is not chain owned. Food was very good in general. The grounds are lovely and you can buy plants from the hotels own garden.

Cons:

Not enough toiletries in bathroom. Smell of fish in the restaurant (I don't eat any fish/seafood or like the smell of it) was so overpowering we moved to the lounge area (the staff sorted this without any fuss, so credit to them). Breakfast was OK but let down by non-toasted toast, and cold poached eggs benedict (which were strangely solid inside but had runny whites (maybe they sat for some time?).

Not the best stay in what is a lovely hotel, needless to say we will not be returning any time soon!
Pros:

The hall is a beautiful old building, apparently grade 1 listed.
The grounds were lovely.

Our room was in what I think was the old stable block, the bedroom and the en suite were both very large and well equipped.
We had a very nice dinner in the evening and the staff were very pleasant.

Cons:

The toilet was not cleaned properly on the outside I mentioned this to the receptionist as we went in for dinner and she said she would check and clean it properly.
When we returned from dinner I checked and not all of the “mess” was removed.

The following morning I paid for the evening meal and we left but on checking the menu on line found we had been overcharged, paying for two on the set menu and also the food ordered from the à la carte!
I phoned reception and they were very sorry for the double charge and they refunded the overcharge amount within a couple of days!

happy with my stay and will come back again
Pros:

I have stayed there before and it was up to the standard I expected

Cons:

When I tried to book direct with the hotel i seemed to be answered by an AI robot, who couldn't answer my questions so I booked with Booking.com
