The hotel was poor , a
Hotel was to hot , bedrooms where hot and noisy and look very tired
Price under £70 is what u expect to pay for a night in ok, cosy hotel.
Nice swiming pool, very friendly helpful staff, place with the soul.
Size of the room - small, somehow I did get the view on the back of the hotel where I had to watch bins and rubish.
The hotel was perfectly located for a function we were attending close by.
I liked everything about the property. It’s has a wonderful feel and the staff dress impeccably - a period hotel with a wonderful ballroom and the character that accompanies it.
I’ve seen that there are what I would consider to be ‘mean’ reviews for the is hotel.
Okay, I can nod to some of the comments, but it’s clean and charming with a location that means Torquay town and harbour is enough of a walk away that you feel ash though you’ve blown the cobwebs away when you get there.
Wonderful location and the staff were great.
This hotel needs an update. Our room was far to hot and after opening the window to let air circulate, all we could hear was the hum of a generator. The price for dinner was far to expensive with a few items not available from the menu. We only stayed 1 night but paid for 2 and decided to make our way back home after checking out at the end of the second evening. Arrived back home at 1am after a 5 hour drive. Have been offered a free stay in a better room should we return.

Grumpy, unfriendly night porter that checked us out in the morning. Awful view from the bedroom window. Sound of generator/AC unit outside our bedroom window.
It was ok untill tje travellers turned up and destroyed everything!!!!
This is a really nice hotel if it was the 1970s. The set up is what you would expect for a nice seaside hotel in the UK if you are born between 1940 - 1960. Restaurant is good; bar is comfortable; fully carpeted; garden is lovely with a nice pool and the location is perfect for large groups or couples looking to enjoy a short walk into Torquay.
Surprisingly the bed was quite uncomfortable for a room with a sea view. Good part of hotel, cheap bed. Bit illogical to me.
Receptionist was superb,so incredibly helpful ,she exemplified how staff should care....A credit to the hotel, well done .....
Room was quite small for a large double that I booked but never mind .....
Absolutely Amazing Staff, very accommodating and professional food was outstanding we were there for a wedding and it was fantastic from start to finish,my only issue was our room was so hot and quite small, we left early due to myself having a bad back so I was very uncomfortable and couldn't pace the room and bed was too hard however that's not a bad point for the hotel I was just in a lot of discomfort we will definitely come back and maybe choose a bigger room but we loved being made to feel so welcome well done livermead Hotel
Just a bigger room but that's my fault and not the hotels
Brilliant location just across the road from the sea. Great food freshly prepared breakfast cooked to order. Lovely pool and relaxing gardens.
Could do with a touch of decoration overdue a renovation. Brighter decoration for inside the Hotel.
Shower didn’t work and what water there was was cold, toilet didn’t flush properly. Very dated decor. Very disappointed as this was supposed to be atop hotel
I liked the location and that we could take our dog who was promptly made a fuss of
The room was dissapointing, I half expected Basil Fawlty to jump out! Terribly dated, beds were lumpy, no duvets, blankets and sheets were provided which I had got into my head hadn't been washed! Thin pillows we had to fold in half. Noise was unbearable through old sash windows, hearing chefs on their breaks having conversations, bins being emptied etc. The hotel is a lovely old place but in need of an overhaul now.
