Perfect comfort after a long trek!
Pros:

Lovely, helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for us, whether it was from Check-in to breakfast! Special shout out for Mahendra who was super kind.
Fantastic location for Thamel, Old Town or airport.
So comfortable and worth the extra money for comfort after a long trek!

Pros:

Hotel Barahi in Kathmandu is a 5‑star property with clean rooms and a clean restaurant. The breakfast buffet is okay: you can get fresh omelettes, and the selection of bread and pastries is decent. The restaurant itself is quite small and feels a bit cramped for the number of guests.

The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished; the furniture is a bit older but still in good condition. The hotel is busy, with many guests and local visitors passing through, but the lobby is very small and not really suitable for a 5‑star hotel.

We wanted to extend our stay, but were told this was not possible, so we had to book another hotel for the remaining days until our flight. Payment was only accepted by credit card; the receptionist even refused our 20‑euro notes, which felt strange and unprofessional.

The pool is small and the area around it is very tight, so there is hardly any space to sit and relax. Overall, the price is reasonable, but with a larger lobby, better payment options and a bit more space in the restaurant and pool area, this hotel could truly feel like a proper 5‑star experience.

The hotel was very good. It's rare to find such a wide breakfast selection in a place. The roof terrace is wonderful. Nice pool with a view of the city.

Perfect hotel with the nicest staff!
Pros:

This hotel blew us away with its hospitality! The hotel is clean and modern with five star service! The restaurant served amazing food for breakfast and dinners! The spa massage (we had few tissue) was perfect and the room was clean, warm and comfortable.
The location was handy and a short walk from central Thamel. We would stay here every time we visit Kathmandu after how perfect our stay was!!

Cons:

The water in the shower was hard to make cold- not that many people want cold showers- I found it perfect but my husband found it too hot for him. But this was a really minor inconvenience that really didn’t effect the stay

Comfortable stay for 2 nights in the heart of Kathmandu
Pros:

The location is excellent close to Thamel. Staff was polite and helpful.

Cons:

Could not open the windows for fresh air.
The overall food experience was not very great especially the Indian cuisine which had wide gaps.

Wonderful location and beautiful hotel.
Pros:

The hotel was in a great central location close to Thamel and right opposite the Garden of Dreams. If felt like a little haven of quiet in the busy city of Kathmandu. The restaurant and bar had amazing sunny views over the whole city. The food was excellent, including the room service. They have just started a spa service and I would highly recommend the massage treatments, especially after weeks of hiking! The design/furnishing of the hotel was exceptional.

Cons:

Unfortunately there was an issue with the water system during my stay and the hot water was polluted with brown sludge. Unfortunately I wasn't able to have a hot shower during my stay and issues with the water system were not communicated with me. However the team were responsive when I raised the issue and kindly amended my bill to compensate for the inconvenience experienced.

Calm oasis in Kathmandu
Pros:

Super comfy beds, really nice breakfast and amazing rooftop pool. Friendly helpful staff who were accommodating.

Cons:

Slight bit of traffic noise in room but it quietened right down in the evening.
