Left without even staying
Everything, felt unsafe, unclean, mould, smelt of cigarettes and weed. Host unresponsive when we complained.
It was close to the train station
It was a bit shabby. The current residents were very noisy throughout the night .
It was in a fine location. The decoration was nice. However not like the images.
Where do we start. Firstly the smell. The kitchen smelt like old greasy takeaway. Imagine the smell of a rotten savaloy. Horrific. The bathroom I refused to use. The smell of stagnant wee is so strong, just vile. The house was occupied by some clearly longer tenants who were quite loud. We don’t blame them as the walls are paper thin. The room we were in backed onto the garden, it was nice weather so we had our window open. However had to close it due to the smell of cigarette smoke. Again we can get over it. The TV didn’t work which was a bit frustrating but not a necessity. I think what really pushed it for us was this. We left the house at 9pm to head to our friend’s birthday, left the room tidy and with the door closed. We didn’t arrive home until 2:30am. When we came in we found our bedroom door wide open. All of our belongings had been moved around. Anything left out was moved to a completely different place. My suitcase had been moved to the other side of the room. The blanket on the bed had been put in a heart, and my stuffed toy (embarrassing!) had been placed with a pen. It sounds sweet but was completely unsettling considering the timeline. There was no reason for anyone to have been in our room. Touching our things. It made me so uncomfortable I didn’t sleep. I managed to pull the key into the room and lock ourselves in, and pushed my suitcase against the door. Not even a hotel does this. I have never felt so violated. It was so uncomfortable as no one had mentioned visiting. So I have no idea who it was poking around in our room. Honestly, we were very relieved to leave.
Property owner did not respond to messages and phone calls and answerphone message. ie No communication at all.
Stop sending AI generated messages, and answer message or phone calls so people can discuss concerns and solve problems.
