Pros:

Location in the city center.

Cons:

The rooms on the top floor of the building are terrible! You can hear everything, the sink is small in the corner, and the towel radiator doesn't work. These rooms don't match the price.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Great location.
Pros:

Location was perfect for us, staff were lovely and helpful. We got an upgrade to a Midland suite from a Junior suite so that was a lovely surprise.

Cons:

Currently under refurb in areas in the lobby and outside but these things need to be done. They forgot to tell us information about breakfast on check in so we had to make a point of finding out after (not really a big deal).
Random but I was looking for a pen/pencil to use while there and there wasn’t one in the suite.
Breakfast area was super busy and no tables left for us. Ended up having breakfast in the lobby.

Enjoyed it but did not feel I got value for money considering the cost paid for one night.
Pros:

The smell of the hotel and its opulence was impressive. The staff were very helpful and had lovely service throughout. I have wanted to stay at this hotel for a long time - more than 20 years from when I lived here as a student and walked passed the hotel - thinking one day I would stay there.

Cons:

The noise in our hotel room from the front of the hotel, disturbed my sleep all night. We had 2 rooms booked - a superior for my husband and I and a twin room for my older sons. We paid extra for our room but there was no difference in room compared to the boys - they were the same so not sure what we got for our money tbh. Our bathroom was pretty shabby too but worked completely fine and we had all we needed. There scaffolding in the bar area (but was gone in the morning) which was unsightly but the worst was the noise from the trams and I had a terrible nights sleep - despite the comfy bed.
