A lovely hotel that we will stay in again on our trips to Manchester
Pros:

The room was slightly smaller than expected as we had not booked the basic room, but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good buffet and the ability to request items not on the buffet. The staff in the dining room were very pleasant and helpful, as were all the staff. The location was perfect, only a walking distance from Oxford Road station and in the centre of the city. The reception and bar are absolutely beautiful.

Cons:

There is nothing we didn't like

Pros:

I really liked the building itself, the facilities were pretty nice and the room was well maintained

Cons:

The bed was a bit small and the building has a bit of "old" smell (but I guess this is a tradeoff for history). Also the nearest parking is 5 minutes away which may be a little inconvenient.

Not the Midland of old, a real shame
Pros:

Staff on arrival friendly and a good beer at the bar

Cons:

The service at bar after the graduation was poor and disorganised so we went elsewhere. The room was not unclean it was more the condition and finishing in the room. The hotel is worn and tired and needs investment

Our room on the 5th floor was excellent

The air conditioning in our original room was broken but the hotel were really helpful in moving us .
For 2 weeks in July they host graduations. It was lovely to see everyone dressed up but reception was so busy you could hardly walk through it .

Pros:

Location, the building itself with lovely bar area

Cons:

Plugs in room we’re not working took repeated request to get them rectified, the bathroom sink didn’t drain which is just unpleasant and was not sorted during the stay. If it was cheap you could pass these things off but it wasn’t and come away disappointed - real shame has had been really looking forward to the stay
