We checked in the Infinity nature resort on 5th and checked out today morning. 

Everything was fine until today morning. 


I stepped into the pool around 6.00 a.m and was there for 10 to 15 minutes. Suddenly the manager came and told me not to use the pool since they have used some chemicals to clean the pool.


So, I came out and went to my room. 


When we finished the breakfast and went to the counter to pay, the manager insulted me infront of other guests saying that he has to run the chemical process all over again.


Then he said there is a notice in the pool stating the pool will be opened at 8.30.


I saw a small notice at the far end of the pool


Without going for any argument,  I asked him what is the fine and he said I have to pay extra LKR 5,000.00.


I payed the bill of total cost LKR 25,000.00 and asked for the bill and reluctantly gave me a printed bill with extra small characters which is hardly visible to me.


When I requested a contact details of the management,  he refused to provide any of those details. 


I have the bill signed by him for LKR. 25,000.00 and a picture of the notice board which I can produce as evidence. 


I deeply regret that I reserved the Infinity nature resort,  Katharagama for my tour and do not recomend any of the travellers for their stay in Katharagama, simply because no one gave proper instructions before boarding. 


I hope Booking.com make a proper inquiry and blacklist this type of hotels who try to rob the customers over simple reasons.

Great service
Pros:

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who loves nature and a peaceful environment. The location is beautiful and surrounded by greenery, making it very relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly, kind, and always willing to help, which made us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall service was excellent. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again.

Love the location and it was perfect for our family holiday. Room was equipped with hot water so it was great.staff and hotel was value for the money we paid.

Pros:

A very nice hotel with fantastic staff. Beautiful and clean pool. Fantastic view of the rice fields from the terrace. Easy and good organization for a Yala safari from the hotel at a fair price. Good food;( in my opinion, the best chicken Kottu I've had on this trip in Sri Lanka). We can thoroughly recommend the hotel and were very satisfied. Thank you for the great stay and especially for everything that was done for our children.

Extremely Disappointing Stay

I stayed at this hotel for one night, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. The customer service was unprofessional and inattentive. Upon arrival, I had to wait an unusually long time at the reception just to check in, with no clear communication or apology for the delay.

Dinner was another frustrating ordeal — after being seated, we waited over an hour before our food finally arrived, and when it did, it was lukewarm and poorly prepared. There was a clear lack of organization and care in the restaurant service. Many people blamed & criticized them.

As for the room, it was in poor condition. The bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, and there was a musty smell that lingered throughout the night. The bedding didn’t feel fresh, and overall, the room didn’t meet even basic standards of comfort or cleanliness. Some bulbs also not working properly.

For the price paid, this stay was absolutely not worth it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely not be returning.
