Everything was perfect.
Very friendly staff, especially the Manager Jagath. He pays attention to details and responds to your requests and needs. Location is generally quiet, except for one room facing the freeway, where you can hear some traffic. There is a religious ceremony every morning between 5-6 am, but my daughter said she slept through with no problems. The villa is well-maintained, and breakfast was lovely, with a great variety. We also had dinner once there, in a very pleasant environment.

Beautiful hotel, out of the very busy Ella town. A calm peaceful oasis with stunning views over Ella Gap. We ate here both nights and the food was delicious.

The property has incredible views - you are in the middle of the nature. The staff was very humble and their service was very excellent. They did everything they could to make sure the stay was comfortable. Several workers were busy making sure the lawn and property was clean on the outside in the morning.
The place is very far from the city. It is a a house converted to rent. The bathroom was not very clean - had some mold issues. The juice served was stale. decorations were tasteful but there is a lot to be desired from the property.
The location of Planters bungalow is amazing..20 mins out of bustling Ella town . Overlooking tree tops , hills and forest . Monkeys , squirrels. Great pool to cool off after a day exploring .
When we arrived we were told that due to renovations our rooms were not available . My husband, son and sister were all “ upgraded “ to a mountain view room but 4 of us was too much for this space . Also no desk or table to set up computers ( working holiday ) which was available in the room ms we had booked . We were not told about this till we arrived . Very poor communication. Water and electricity switched off for renovation and we were not informed so no showers and air conditioning..a simple thing just to inform us so we could be prepared . Also due to renovations the kitchen was a long way away from the tables . All outdoor tables -ok for us but some people need indoor dining. The staff were beautiful.. couldn’t do enough for us and worked very hard due to extra demands. We are looking forward to seeing how the new renovations look and can come back to really enjoy this place . Management apologised and helped us out in the end . Thanks Jagath and team .

The water wasn’t hot first thing but they fixed it
Wonderful in facilities and staff. Our stay was magical. Special thanks to the two managers and the kind driver who picked us up from kandy and brought us to the hotel.
Every aspect of our stay and the grounds and room were of the highest order. I will come back for a longer visit.
Planters is a beautiful and an idyllic place to stay, allowing you to relax and reset whilst still easy access to Ella and surrounding areas with the help of the hotel to arrange tuk tuks. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is delicious. Our room was stunning.
There’s real potential here for the hotel to become more of a destination for food given the setting and relative isolation however we felt our meals outside of breakfast were a bit lacking and too slow.
Our stay at the hotel in Ella was wonderful. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist us with anything we needed, which made our stay even more comfortable.
The airport transfer took around 7 hours. It was a long journey, but it was well organized and comfortable.
The food in the restaurant was delicious — we really enjoyed the quality and variety of the dishes.
The views around the hotel are absolutely stunning: beautiful mountains, lush greenery, and a very peaceful atmosphere.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return again.

Our room could do with some upgrades especially the shower in the bathroom which was very awkward and a slip hazard
