Hotel Livia

Within walking distance of Butrint Archaeological Park, this hotel is a gem. The stone and wood construction is quite nice, and the interior is pleasant. It has that relaxed mountain feel. The room rates are very reasonable.

Rooms have small balconies, which would be great for summer cooling. The rooms are large by European standards, though the bathroom is quite small. Unlike many hotels, the electricity remains on when you leave the room so you can leave items to charge.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating for the restaurant as well as some indoor seating. We did not have dinner or lunch, so we can’t comment on their quality. We did have breakfast included with our room rate (eggs prepared as desired plus cheese, olives, and vegetables in the Albanian style, and a type of fried dough ball called petulla), our breakfasts were cooked well and nicely presented.

Note the menu for lunch and dinner is a bit pricey, but Hotel Lydia is the only restaurant for several miles. The nearby town of Ksamil has many café-style grill restaurants that are less expensive but parking is difficult there.

The staff was very nice and personable. Parking is easy.

If you’re visiting Butrint, Hotel Lydia would be my first choice. Of course, if you are visiting Ksamil or Sarandë for several days as well, a Ksamil or Sarandë hotel that offers parking is more convenient if Butrint is a side trip in your Ksamil or Sarandë vacation.

L'hôtel est situé à quelques pas du site archéologique de Butrint. C'est le seul dans ce secteur et par conséquent le coin est très calme et apaisé (ça change de Ksamil non loin de là qui est très/trop fréquenté). Le personnel est très sympa.

Die Lage als Ausgangspunkt für die Besichtigung von Butrint ist perfekt.

A wonderful location for nearby the Butrint archaeological site which was great to go round. We got there by driving over the nearby river on the ramshackle chain ferry which was great fun. We have only done a similar ride once before (in Spain). I bet its more reliable than the joke one in Cowes, I.O.W.! The staff were friendly at check in and the meals. There is nowhere else nearby to go so be prepared to eat and drink at the hotel. That was fine although the beers were the same price for their 33ml bottles as others charged for the 50ml. I think my basic grasp of economics explains why! We liked dinner and breakfast. TV not good - see below - but the wifi was fine so we could listen to Radio Caroline's internet broadcasts and check emails. We had the end, dual aspect, room, on the top shared balcony, and sat outside there when we were back at the hotel. Dinner was a bit chaotic with the family and their young child eating there as well but we found that interesting! Folk wanting a quiet meal would need to drive elsewhere.

We loved Livia. Very friendly staff and a nice family running the place. Beautiful location right next to the national Park. Great food too.

Bei unserem Aufenthalt waren nur wenige Übernachtungsgäste da- und das ganze Familienleben der Gastgeber spielte sich im Gastraum ab. Sehr sympathisch:)
Das Frühstück war unglaublich viel und gut!
Das Personal war sehr nett.

Die Lage ist das einzig wirklich Gute, was erwähnenswert ist - wenn man an der archäologischen Ausgrabung interessiert ist, die 5 Min zu Fuß um die Ecke liegt. Die ist allerdings wunderbar, eine kleine Halbinsel, sehr viel zu entdecken und landschaftlich sehr schön!
