Location and charm of this hotel was lovely.
The bathrooms seemed like an after thought: very small and not maintained (only one of three lights worked). The room was nice, but decorative molding had broken off and was not replaced. It looked unkept. The walls were also very thin, and we heard our neighbors celebrate each other one night...
All of this for nearly €300 and night is way overpriced in my opinion. For that cost, lights should work, and walls should have broken decor.
Our stay was completely ruined by extreme noise and total indifference from the staff. Our room faced a balcony accessible only from the neighboring room, where loud talking and partying continued until 3:45 AM. We contacted the hotel reception three times—at midnight, 2 AM, and again in person—but nothing changed. Shockingly, we witnessed some staff delivering beers to the disruptive guests at 2 AM still!!. This wasn’t just negligence. We’re now requesting a refund and leaving early. If you care about sleep, professionalism, or basic respect, stay elsewhere.
The breakfast was great, but didn’t serve until 9am, really late. Hotel was charming, but old with really small bathrooms. Staff was very nice, but communication was very difficult.
I booked through Booking.com as the hotel didn’t have a website I could book through them directly from the USA. It was my mistake, but I was charged almost $450 a night for this property which was highway robbery. I keep looking online and can’t find a price for more than $250/night for a Thursday-Saturday stay. The room was nice with a small balcony looking out to the sea. The bathroom you had to crawl over the toilet to get into the shower. I have never paid this price. AVOID BOOKING THROUGH BOOK.COM…complete ripoff! The hotel staff doesn’t speak English which is in no way their problem, but can’t discuss the room charge discrepancy.
The restaurant where breakfast is served is a cat’s litter box. The whole dining room needs a good cleaning.

Regrettably, we encountered an issue with the drainage in our shower during our stay at Gümrük Hotel in Urla, Izmir. Despite the overall pleasant experience, the drain seemed to have been inadequately prepared, resulting in a slight unpleasant odor when the bathroom door was left open.

Stayed until two rooms. The nicer one facing the marina’s toilet didn’t work properly. I let staff know and I am sure it will be fixed.

A nicely renovated old building. The room was clean.
The view from the window is the sunshades of the inner garden. So, consider it no-view. The stair steps are irregular and too steep making it hard to carry the luggage upstairs. The room is really small. This hotel is excessively expensive. I went there becasue my girlfriend is a victim of the fashion bloggers, who apparently talked about this place in their social media. So, I was a victim of her being victim too. This amount of money is totally not worth for this small room.
