Room great, hotel has huge potential. Staff have wrong attitude and display unsatisfactory and unnecessary attitude across the board.
Staff, attitude, food.
A lovely hotel in a great location with plenty of parking. It has a nice terrace for drinks while taking in the fantastic views and the staff were very friendly.
Nothing. There was nothing not to like.
limited choice, no frills.full english breakfast was ok.
had pancakes and asked for a slice of crispy bacon to go with it and was told not possible, even though the price of this was less than we paid for in the breakfast package... then they relented but wish they hadnt as the bacon wasnt crispy!
had tp pay extra if you wanted a latte. No jam or marmalade available which l think is a basic for a breakfast
was given a room for disabled access, we are not disabled although it was fairly spacious, having said that l dont know how a disabled person would use the bath, no walk in shower and the bath was narrow and shallow and surrounded on all sides by disabled assist handles which actually prevented access.so had you actually been disabled you would not be able to wash. we were moved to another room which was small poky and dark with a view onto a brick wall, so we asked to go back to the disabled room!!!!!!
roast dinner not too bad, served with separate vegetables, suggest vegetables are plated as alot of waste when piled up on seperate platters it never all gets eaten and looks too much
Interessante locatie voor wandelingen in de Mendips. Comfortabele kamer met airco (tegenwoordig zelfs in Engeland handig). Uitzicht vanop het terras van het restaurant heel mooi. Lekker ontbijt.
Muziek tijdens ontbijt iets te dominant. ‘Last night a DJ saved my life’, mogelijk maar niet tijdens mijn English breakfast.
Warm welcome at reception room was spotless and dog welcome pack was much appreciated. Ate in the restaurant that evening waiter young man was exceptional. ,food was great valie
Our room was opposite to an outside air conditioning system which was loud especially as wondows needed to be open . If you are a fan of drum and bass through the night it would be perfect
Good restaurant lots of free parking
Room and hall ways look tired. Could do with a steam clean. Air conditioning was a bonus but running water noisy.
Location, ease of checking in, comfortable of beds
Having to wait 50 minutes for a cup of tea at breakfast and over an hour for food when there was only 25 people in the restaurant.
The hotel is in a lovely location with great views and is within easy reach of Cheddar Gorge, which was a major highlight. The air conditioning was also a welcome addition and kept the room comfortably cool throughout our stay.
The staff were quite rude and cold, and we did not feel welcomed at all. The night before, we were asked whether we wanted breakfast and, after confirming that we did, were booked in for 9am.
When we arrived the following morning, a member of staff was very abrupt and told us, “You haven’t paid for it yet, there is a wait,” in a condescending tone, which was immediately off-putting. When we later returned to speak to her, she scoffed and said, “Decided not to get breakfast then?” The overall attitude made the experience uncomfortable.
Great location, restaurant terrace with beautiful view
The window in the room cannot be opened properly. The room was very hot, we had to have the rather noisy air conditioning on all night, even though it was a cool night. Could’ve saved a lot of energy and had a better sleep if only the windows had opened fully

As an ex Premier Inn the bed was really comfortable and the whole hotel was very clean.
The food in the restaurant wasn't very good. I ordered quiche and salad and the plate it arrived on was too hot to hold. The quiche was very nondescript, with no flavour. My partner had rainbow trout which was over cooked and swimming in a paprika flavoured oil, not mentioned on the menu and not nice. Also, no decaf in the rooms.
