We enjoyed our stay, the room was definitely better than expectations , although they have just joined raddison individuals, so alot of building work going on, but we only noticed because we went the wrong way to our room.
We checked the menu online before we booked because of my wife being coeliac, however when we sat down to eat it was different, and we were told its probably not been updated online, however it did not have much coeliac friendly options and as much as we couldn't find fault with any other part of our stay, its for this reason we would not have booked in the first place.
I do assume that because they are new members of the Raddisons individuals group of hotels , the building work and the menu issues are because of the change over and the influx of upgrades required.
The bed was comfortable, very good service and staff very kind and helpful.
The water pressure in bathroom was weak, the floors were squeaky, no lift.
The room accommodation was excellent, booking in was a bit lengthy,I believe the member of staff was new to the job. The room itself was large, clean and attractive. Later on, ordering a drink at the bar was also lengthy,at first there was no person to be seen, after a few minutes a young girl appeared, after giving my order, she said that she didn't think she could serve alcohol as she was too young. After a few minutes another member of staff appeared and served me after a fashion, pouring a Guinness appeared to be a challenge. We also booked dinner that evening, and again it took far longer than expected...my wife had a burger and I had steak pie...there were no potato chips available on sweet potato chips or mash. The steak pie was disappointing,a metal ashette with more gravy than meat and two pieces of,obviously frozen puff pastry, afterwards for dessert I ordered ice cream which took forever to arrive. Next morning, the member of staff was delightful, however the hot itemThe foods for breakfast were well overheated and dry, with the fried eggs being solid, the fresh scrambled eggs my wife ordered were lovely.
We had a two night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the things I have pointed out were amusing to us and didn't spoil our enjoyment
The male waiter at dinner was a star as was the woman on breakfast duty, some other staff members of staff I believe were new to the job,but we all have to learn. We would not hesitate in booking again...especially as the hotel is undergoing a major refurb. I'm even looking into organising a 2 night golf break for 4
The food overall could have been better, but the accommodation itself was lovely
The staff were exceptional. Breakfast was OK
The hotel is under construction. Amenities were limited. Wifi was out. Waiting for room to be checked by a manager after the housekeeping and the reception clerk had already checked it.
Breakfasts excellent. Room was large clean and comfortable though the two chairs were not something to sit and relax on. Armchairs needed or bucket chairs. Good shower. Could do with an extra pillow or two.
Dinner for our party of 8 was dreadful. We had to ask for a menu (the girl found one but on prompting found 7 more). The menu was very limited and the food, when served, was dreadful. The gammon steaks were more akin to shoe leather than gammon; the lentil soup was too salty; the chicken burger, well give them the benefit of the doubt, it might have been chicken but was closer related again to shoe leather. We were never asked if we needed more drinks and never came to ask if we wanted deserts or coffee. We cancelled our following nights reservation and went to eat at the Raj Mahal in town (quite excellent) instead. They did have a small wedding with 50 guests which was their excuse for everything but in a hotel this size in the tourist season (and 100% occupancy) that was no excuse at all. Our bottles of water were not replenished in our room and reception was not always manned. A taxi that we requested to be booked for Sunday morning for the station was never booked and we only discovered that at 10pm when we checked to make sure that it had in fact been booked.
It was clean
We booked and said we where traveling with a dog then got hit with a £50 fee for dog I top of our fee paid to booking.com
Newly refurbished room with new usb ports and TV and value for money
The blinds were not blackout so bright in morning no bin in the toilet and some of the bathroom fittings were not finished properly
Stayed here a year ago and the hotel was tired and in much need of an upgrade. The new owners have delivered this and there has been quite a change for the better.
Room well appointed and comfortable. Excellent breakfast
Hotel under refurbishment during my stay
Low water pressure in shower
TV in room didn’t work
Location
Evening meal (gammon steak). Did not know whether to eat it or re sole my shoes!
Zelo velika soba. Prijazno osebje. Odličen zajtrk. Parkirišče pred hotelom.
Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. The room had lots of space. Bar staff were very good and helpful.
There wasn't an opening windows (they were painted shut and it was really hot. Also there was no hot water throughout our stay. I was told that the boilers were broken. I phoned to arrange dining at the hotel and was told that meals were fully booked for the first night and due to staff shortages closed on the second. This was not the case, and I had booked other venues for our group of 8 to eat at.
Breakfast was a good range of continental and cooked food. Service at breakfast and from the bar staff was excellent.
The room was very spacious. Of concern was the lack of opening windows (they were painted shut and had no cords in any event - given the heat this meant ventilation was poor. Added to this we had no hot water throughout our stay. We were informed that the boilers were affected and repair was not completed during our stay.
Hotel in the recovery process, but very good renovations are done in part of it.
No air conditioner
Nothing!
On arrival we were surprised at the poor state of the window frames where we parked the car. Reception was better. Our room was large and comfortable but the shower room was minuscule. The windows were impossible to open as the sashes were broken and the windows had subsequently been painted shut. We didn’t notice the stain on the duvet cover until much later when we turned on the light! There was a tatty piece of photocopied paper on the coffee table with information about bar/bistro opening times and breakfast time. It was fit for the bin! It said that food was available in the bar until 21.00 so, as this was the only place available in the hotel for food, we went down at 20.20. We were greeted by a bar maid who said the “after this large group we’re not serving any more food”. We went down the road to the next establishment who also stopped serving by the time we got there at 20.30. We had never been to Kinross before so we had no idea where to find a meal. Eventually we found a really good Chinese.
We thought that with its connection to Radisson that we could find good service, how wrong can you be????
Made very welcome by staff , room very clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable
