No reception no communication with staff booking.com manager doesn’t replies to text on time after 4pm it feels like a dead place

It is quite pricey for the area but overall I felt the beautiful location and rooms made it worth it.

I wasn't expecting that this would be a 'cafe with rooms' as that was not how it comes across on booking.com. It's a popular cafe spot/ co-working space, you feel a bit uncomfortable lounging around during the day by the pool (which is more of a plunge pool) whilst it's open.

Not what I was expecting, probably my fault for not researching properly, but I was disappointed as I had thought I had booked a nice small boutique hotel for my final night in Sri Lanka.

Also quite far from town so recommend a scooter.

The owners. Very inconsiderate, and so not hospitable. They had a faulty lock at one of the toilets, which made one of our friends get locked inside the bathroom, and the owners wanted us to pay for the cost of it after the staff broke it to let one of our guests out from that toilet. There was no negotiations and she was just so rude, shifting the blame on us
Further the outdoor furnitures always stank cus they kept getting wet in the rain. So there was lack of shade from the rain in the huge balcony in the rooms and the upstairs common area
And no staff to attend to any emergencies after 5pm.

We were here in October. I got stuck in the toilet with a faulty lock. We called the staff and they attended after a while and had to break the lock. We were very unhappy as we were asked by the hotels manager to pay for their own faulty lock. We were even more dissatisfied with how she dealt with the situation and talked to us regarding this matter.

They didn’t clean the rooms good enough totally nothing was cleaned deeply.
We had to clean up all the surfaces by ourselves
Its exactly in front of rice terrace field so its full of mosquitos specially at night .
Cafe is open till 4 so there is nobody to assist you with any thing.
There is no hot water at all although they say there is but we have stayed four days and there were no hot water at all for shower.
Be ready to get in touch with nature cause you can see snakes and all type of insects.
Do not expect a hotel with professional services cause mainly its a cafe and only have three rooms to stay.
The owner is kind over text msg but really not warm and welcoming in person.

Our experience with the property owner was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We encountered an issue with a faulty door lock, which was clearly a problem with the property itself. And our friend was stuck inside bathroom for more than 40 minutes.

Despite the assistance of her own staff who had to break the door open as there was no other option and the key did not work we were later unfairly charged 40,000LKR where she said for a fair amount.

Even after explaining the situation clearly, the owner refused to understand, blamed us for the damage, and attempted to bargain for money.

What made the situation worse was the manner in which she handled it she was rude, uncooperative, and even went as far as to threaten us and demand that we leave our passports as a guarantee.

This was an extremely unpleasant and unfair experience, especially considering that the issue originated from the property’s own maintenance problem.

Er waren geen ligbedden bij het zwembad. Er was geen receptie alleen een cafe aanwezig die om 16 uur dicht gaat. Daarna is er geen personeel meer. De locatie ligt ver van alles. Voor de prijs hadden we iets meer erom heen verwacht.

Das Kaffee sperrt um 4pm zu und danach ist es schwer an essen zu kommen außer man fährt mit dem TukTuk.
