The bed was very comfortable and the spa facilities were lovely. Buxton was a lovely village with lots of nice restaurants to choose from
The breakfast could have had more cold food/buffet items and been restocked more regularly
The staff were really helpful
Hotel been renovated to high standard
.....
......
Handy for the Buxton Theatre
Poor quality toilet paper - an easy fix for the management
The outdoor spa pool and indoor mineral pool were lovely
Didn’t serve alcohol free wine in the restaurant, but did have alcohol free Guinness
Beautiful hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff.
The spa is nice but there are some unusual aspects to it. There is only one place to lie on loungers to relax and read and that is in the main pool room. The temperature in this room is so overpoweringly hot it is very unpleasant and the lighting is so low reading is not possible. There is an indoor/outdoor pool upstairs with lots of room for loungers inside but sadly there are just 4 wooden upright chairs. This would be a lovely place to relax but unfortunately no comfortable seating is available which is strange for a spa. There are no jacuzzis at this spa other than some weak jets in the outdoor pool. The steam room is not hot……..This could be an amazing spa but sadly isn’t but obviously this is just my personal preference.
Breakfast was great. Lots of choice and well cooked.
More signage in the Spa. We stumbled on the stone beds, but only by chance.
Staff very helpful
Spa was lovely
Waiters at restaurant were fantastic
In general it feels a bit like a 3 or 4 star hotel in a 5 star body
The food was crazy overpriced at the restaurant
Breakfast was ok
The room was nice but not incredible
Spa was lovely but also the steam room kept shutting off and the outdoor pool had some dirty tissues beside it
early access to the spa was perfect for us, perfect addition to our 1 nights stay.
room was comfortable and perfect
Late bar available - perfect for after show drinks
There was nothing that we could fault on our stay
Beautiful room - amazing spa - incredible breakfast
Separate bar and small seating areas. Waiter service for breakfast. Spa access. Valet parking
No coffee in room had not been refilled. Dinner not hot enough when reached the table but breakfast was. Unable to book in early via email despite other people arriving and checking in early.
Location and facilities
It was lovely and clean.
The spa times for guests. We came to enjoy the spa as my mum and dad were going to a show.
We could only check in at 3 and then with tea at 6 it only gave us a couple of hours to enjoy it.
It would have Been nice to be able to have had a late night swim and relax so I think the pools should be open to guests staying at the hotel later times
The spa was ok
Concierge was friendly
The breakfast was awful and the staff were young and unfriendly. The room was noisy as it was over the spa which seemed to be constantly business. Too busy it ran out of towels. Every morning we were woken up by 7.30 am
When the spa opened. I spoke to manager who did little and seemed not to care. We stay all
Over the world and she was hands down not interested in making our stay better. She offered us a refund for Breakfast as the cooked breakfast came late and without bacon but despite numerous emails we have not had a refund for part of the stay let alone
The awful breakfast.
It’s one thing having a poor stay it’s another when nothing is done to rectify - poor customer
Service on every level. 3 stars at best.
Excellent location
The room was very small and there were a pair of socks belonging to a previous guest in the wardrobe 😩 water was left in the kettle and there were areas of the spa that were grubby and not what was expected from a hotel of this stature.
