Pet friendly and great location
Pros:

Genuinely dog friendly with great location and the quality of the property and furnishings are excellent.
The hotel has got it spot on with the luggage porters who were excellent, as were the receptionist.
The Spa is really well laid out and it’s easy to spend many hours in there.

Pros:

Friendly staff, rooftop pool.

Cons:

After paying 306
To be asked to pay another 50 to use pool was way too much.
Paying 30 to have your car removed was a joke

Lovely birthday stay
Pros:

The rooftops pool was divine and welcome on one of the hottest days of the year. Room was cool and comfortable with fabulous shower room. Deliciosuly comfortable bed .Provision of robes and flip-flops was luxurious. and breakfast delicious in a beautiful dining room . Location excellent with the beautiful town of buxton to enjoy. We also had a trip to chatsworth which is close by.

Cons:

A little.more acknowledgement from reception staff when we arrived to make us feel.welcome would have been worthy of five star hotel.

I had to ask someone to clean the table at breakfast after we'd been shown to an unwiped table with milk stains and crumbs on . It was early and room had few people in it A small thing but at hotels like these , small things just make it extra special.

Disappointed
Pros:

Location

Cons:

This was my fifth time staying at this hotel- it was formerly affiliated with ensana and now the spa is with champneys.
When it was with ensana - spa access was included in the price- now you have to pay extra.
This was very disappointing and the make things worse- the lady at reception failed to mention that one of the main pools was out of order.
Also to celebrate a birthday- they left a brownie no bigger than the size of a child’s thumb on a plate. How pathetic.

Amazing location and look to the property. Hotel is beautiful and all staff are friendly.
Pros:

The superior room was really lovely! Large bright bathroom too and added extras to make your stay more comfortable.

Cons:

One of the pools was closed for maintenance, which I was told before we payed for using the spa.
I was a bit disappointed with the spa facilities but this may be because I have been to an amazing one recently.

Could be a fabulous hotel but changes need to be made
Pros:

The room was spacious and elegantly decorated - a real highlight of the stay! The location is a great central point to explore Buxton with some fabulous restaurants near by.

Cons:

The spa was shut. We were given no prior warning of this. £10 per person surcharge for use of the roof top swimming pool was a shocker! The breakfast was poor with slow service (we didn't even drink the coffee that was served to us!) As for the reception staff- clearly young staff not trained in customer service which put a downer to the start to the stay.
