First class resort, ideal for a break in gloomy February. The Spa is spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the treatments are excellent. Impossible to fault the accommodation, and recommend using valet parking (£30 per day extra, but worth it). Food is standard British fare, with several more exotic restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Buxton is a jewel and well worth a visit - in our case, a return.
Nothing
Breakfast was excellent
It was all good
The spa and the room were excellent
The food is incredibly expensive. £18 for a basic sandwich in the bar. £20 for sausage and mash. Crazy prices imo
Amazing food amazing staff amazing facilities
Location is perfect. Staff in Darwin Bar & at breakfast very welcoming, breakfast was tasty & well presented. Spa area is spacious & excellent facilities.
No on site parking. We booked a Queen Room, room was very small, standard double bed only. Room felt even smaller as in the attic & sloping ceiling joists, also a very large desk & chair immediately on entering the room.
Breakfast was amazing.
Staff so friendly and accommodating
Lovely facilities, etc
Nothing to note of.
The variety of spa rooms, saunas, pools. The room was lovely, very spacious and clean
Breakfast staff was not cleaning tables, had to ask for plates to be taken away. The spa facilities were slightly confusing with the rooms, didn’t know if you had to pay for certain rooms that had doors shut or if it was first come first serve (they had do not disturb on door but people were in and out)
Really lovley decorated and smart . Spacious and clean
The pillows in the room where too soft and had a neck ache the next day
Lovely hotel and setting in the centre of Buxton with Valet parking
Stayed here before and booked a room a room that's main feature was a bath and a fireplace. They initially put us in a small back room with neither and was overlooked by a restaurant where the diners were looking straight into the room. Asked at reception where our bath and fireplace was and was told these are not guaranteed when booking via Booking.com. I kicked up a stink and insisted on a room as per the booking and eventually they found us one. Rest of the stay was perfect as usual but be aware that they may try to blame booking.com for false advertising and try to downgrade you. They suggested calling beforehand or booking direct to ensure you get the facilities you want.
The pools are fantastic, the building is gorgeous.
Great location. Beautiful bedroom with all the touches. Beautiful breakfast with lots of choice.
The location was amazing!
Staff so friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was amazing, room was big and the outside pool such a great addition
We loved the room, staff, breakfast and spa.
The spa is absolutely wonderful. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Good breakfast, large room, great bathroom
Really well decorated throughout.
Kept our luggage and valet parked the car.
No signs to point to the lifts, the corridoors are very long and lots of internal staircases. Needs signage for where lifts are on each floor.
No signs/labels for smoothies at breakfast.
No water available at breakfast.
Baked goods set out a good 20 mins after we arrived at 7am breakfast.
No coffee machine in the room.
No luggage rack in the room.
Pens but no paper in the room.
No hotel information in the room/no plan/ a booklet would have been appropriate like Raddison hotels do.
Pictures on the wall had bits of cardboard inside, not very posh!
The history, decor and the amazing facilities.
Bar could stay open a bit later for residents. Not a deal breaker though. Will definitely be coming back!
