Pros:

Great central location, a short walk to the padang, museums and Central Market, this hotel presents a handsome facade, well kept and maintained, with a rather attractive lobby; containing lovely Chinese furniture, a fab fish tank, and tons of the previous owner's artifacts in display cases creating a small museum vibe.

The staff are all friendly and helpful, there's plenty of parking and out back a small seating area for smokers. My room was perfect for my needs: very clean, comfy bed, good air con and wifi, decent sized bathroom with a powerful shower, kettle, ironing board and airon, and extremely peaceful.

Housekeeping clean your room everyday, and unusually for a budget hotel, replenish your toilet roll and coffee/tea sachets. That's what I call high standards and great service!

I stayed here a week and thoroughly felt at home. I've stayed at many budget hotels in Malaysia and this is easily one of the best! Very good value for money. There's a 7-11 nearby, McDs and Starbucks is less than ten mins walk, and there's plenty of food options steps away.

Cons:

All great really, but there was some confusion over the tourism tax. My booking included the tourism tax in my total payment but initially the receptionist thought I hadn't paid it so asked me to pay in cash.

After contacting Booking com, then discussing the situation with another receptionist the next day all was resolved satisfactorily and I was refunded the cash amount.

Turned out Booking.com paid the tourism tax directly to the government, not the hotel, hence the confusion.

Very unsatisfied, will not book again the next time I'm here.
Pros:

Easy to reach by transportation (Grab).

Cons:

I booked for a single room, had a very bad experience as there were tiny black ants crawling everywhere from the coffee table to bed to floor. Although the staff allowed me to change to another room, but even the changed room has ants on the floor and bathroom.
Cleanliness especially the bathroom/toilet/sink isn't as expected.
Also, it was stated hair dryer is provided in the description, but there's none! Kindly please ensure accuracy of information being stated.
Lastly, all the photos shown are very much edited, do not believe in them.
