Pros:

L'ensemble de chalets est magnifique avec une vue directe sur le lac. Tout y est fait pour le confort, de l'agencement à l'équipement é passant par la literie. Nous avons aussi pu profiter du jacuzzi et de la piscine. Dommage ce n'était que poir 1 nuit.

Traumhafte Lage. Sehr ruhig. Toller Blick auf den See

Cons:

Nicht sauber. Alt und abgewohnt. Schimmel in den Bädern. Kein gutes Management bzgl Sauberkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und Reparaturfreudigkeit. Zum Beispiel lockere Schrauben an den Terrassenmöbeln, lockerer Türgriff am Bad, uralter Schmutz auf den Terrassenmöbeln und zum Beispiel der Regaltür unter der Küchenspüle.

We LOVE The Retreat ❤️
Pros:

I highly recommend this beautiful place. We loved it so much. Stunning location. So peaceful, picturesque views! We’ll definitely be back. Annie was so lovely, met her on our way to the room. Such a awesome host! She communicated with us so well! even when we forgot something on check out she messaged us straight away. Allowed us visitor parking. We felt so welcome. Thanks again Annie for your beautiful hospitality! We enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you!
Swimming pool was awesome. Kids loved it! Beds were comfy. Was exactly what I imagined it to be. Thank you so much @The Retreat. We’ll be back soon 😊 10/10 stay for me! So grateful, thank you!

Stunning gardens and view, amazing facilities and run by the friendliest people.
Pros:

The view is so gorgeous and we loved looking on to the marina and watching the boats come in and out too. We ended up cooking at the accommodation to maximise the view using the great kitchen in the villa. Beautiful surrounding gardens and it all felt really peaceful and special to be there. Loveliest people managing the place too. It's perfect without being luxurious and was possibly our favourite stay in NZ.

Cons:

We had everything we needed so nothing comes to mind that is negative.

Incredibly peaceful and relaxing
Pros:

Wow—this place was incredible. We stayed in Chalet #3 and enjoyed a stunning view of Lake Taupo. With all the windows open, we curled up on the sofa with a hot cup of tea and a blanket, watching the sunset as boats returned from their day on the water. It was incredibly peaceful and relaxing, and we would absolutely love to come back. The manager was very friendly and gave great recommendations for restaurants and places to see.

Relaxing and a place to unwind
Pros:

The location of The Retreat was sensational. It overlooked the harbour at Lake Taupo and the views were magnificent looking at over the lake. It was in close proximity to the main town of Taupo and would only take you 15-20 mins to walk and less than 5 mins to drive. The noise was minimal. The layout of the chalet was great, 2 bedrooms each with bathrooms. The chalet we stayed in would suit a family with 2 adults and 2 kids. I believe you could also rent a 3 bedroom chalet but would need to confirm this.

I would absolutely return to this location if visiting NZ again.

Cons:

The Chalet was overall really nice to stay in. For a larger family of more than 2 kids it maybe a bit small but I beleive there were 3 bedroom chalets available as well.

Wirklich zu empfehlen, wenn man die Region rund um den Taupo-See erobern will.
Pros:

Herrlicher Blick auf den Tauposee und auf den kleinen Hafen, gut ausgestattete Küche, alles prima rund um den Aufenthalt organisiert, bis hin zum nummerierten Parkplatz.

Cons:

Die Möbel am Esstisch und insbesondere auf der (sehr kleinen) Terrasse scheinen sehr in die Jahre gekommen, ein wenig ramponiert.
