A wonderful stay at Lobos Lodge Carmel. Location was fantastic meaning we hardly needed to use car - everything walking

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this inn. The only positive is the beach proximity, but over a mile from State Street
Pros:

Location - one block from the beach

Cons:

Essentially an overpriced motel that is dated - their website photos must be from 10+ years ago.
Big windows are sealed shut and bathroom window would not stay open, a bathroom light did not work, sink drain rusty and sink stained.

Pros:

You can't beat the location. It's so convenient and the surrounding property is lovely.

Cons:

The room is very outdated for the nightly rate. Everything feels like it was updated in the 80's. The wallpaper is peeling, the baseboards are bashed, etc. I would expect something remodeled for this area.

While it remains in serviceable condition, essential parts of this facility are showing their age.
Pros:

Breakfast iş minimal and could easily be expanded. Towels are GREAT! Location is optimal. So is the king bed.

Cons:

Incredibly, there is ONE USB port in the entire room. The biggest drawback is the lack of a kitchen sink. The bathroom sink is laughably inadequate for so much as a glass of water, let alone any other use. The bath is large, but not particularly useful, and needs a total update. And there is a complete lack of furniture throughout for unpacking and storing, resulting in clothing draped over the couch and chair. I thought this was a fairly high-end establishment, but in reality it is only average.

It was aesthetically nice to look at, very unique and cool design of the courtyard between rooms.

Cons:

The rooms were a bit noisier than expected. Thin walls allow for hearing others in adjacent rooms.

Perfect location. Courteous and helpful staff
Pros:

Location was excellent - very close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Good assortment of pastries and fresh food was offered in the morning. Coffee was available in the office throughout the day.

Cons:

WiFi coverage in our room was spotty.

Pros:

Breakfast was fine. Would love something like hard boiled eggs! Good coffee. LOVE the location. Beds are ok. Rooms are clean.

Cons:

Seems awfully expensive for the level of room. I guess we are paying for the location.
