Beautiful location, friendly staff, amazing food
Breakfast was incredible
Stayed in Roos Torr which was budget room as no view but did have an en-suite
Room was fairly hot at night but fine with window open
Staff were very friendly, very helpful. Food in pub was excellent, would highly recommend eating there. Best steak ever. Frank certainly knows how to cook it on the ox grill. Watch from the chefs table.
Room was very tired. No cups, spoons or enough milk for tea/coffee. Had to ask for them. Only 2 towels provided which were very small bath towels, no hand towels, no shower mat for floor after shower. One bedside lamp very bright couldn't turn it down as just flashed.
Only one pillow per person. One spare in wardrobe but no pillow case.
Duvet cover had a small stain (looked like blood) on it.
Have stayed here previously and by chance the same room about 4 or 5 years ago but the Bathroom has a door frame around a locked door which is very rough untreated wood. Needs sanding down to avoid accidental splinters. This has not changed since the last time.
Curtains in bedroom and bathroom really need changing, old fashioned and barely on the tracks.
Its attachment to the pub and the views from the bedroom are fantastic.
Nowt. It was exactly what it said it was.
location was great as we wanted to do some walking. The evening meal we had was excellent and in itself made up for some of the problems outlined below. The breakfast was also excellent
Since I booked the room, prices had risen (considerably) hence the room we were given was one which matched the price we had paid. Very small and no view. To get more space and a view, I had to pay and additional 50% over the original price. I have no problem with owners putting up prices but they should stick to deals done before guests arrive. Alternatively I could have been contacted and told in advance so that I had the option to make other arrangements
Great location. Wonderful food. Very special steaks. Staff were very friendly.
Main towels were a bit small
All of the staff were so friendly and its in a stunning location. The food was absolutely amazing
Lovely position on the moors.
Food was fantastic
Staff were lovely.
The rooms are too basic for the price point.
Rooms/ bathroom and landings carpet need a bit of TLC
Lovely staff, amazing food, dogs friendly, outstanding scenery.
Shower head wouldn’t stay in fixed location.
The food was amazing, and the staff were friendly
There were only 2 pillows on the king bed. Meaning 1 pillow each for me and my partner
Evening meal was very good. As a restaurant the food all seemed very good.
The rooms really aren't up to much. Dated and poorly finished. I use better towels at home for our dog than the towels we were supplied for our overnight stay. The restaurant where we ate our evening meal was freezing. Even though there was an open fire that could have been used to warm the area and give it more of a cosy feel, it wasn't lit. The lighting was also terrible, in our room and in the restaurant area
Nice clean, comfortable room.
Dog friendly.
Exceptional evening meal and breakfast.
Great staff.
Sunday evening as the bar was closed from around 17:00, No TV in room
We enjoyed our overnight stay at The Dartmoor Inn immensely. Our room with views was beautiful, the steaks cooked in the restaurant were cooked to perfection and our hosts were welcoming and Frank went out of his way to ensure we were happy with everything. We will definitely be back in 2026 and hopefully bring our family with us. Thank you
nothing
Fantastic food - dog friendly - great location - good value for money
Sizes of rooms could be better but absolutely not a deal breaker
Restaurant and menu
My single room had no views other than the backyard
Our second visit here. The staff are so welcoming, they remembered us from our last visit. The location is fabulous, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food in the pub is incredible.
