We booked the room for 2 people and it was so spacious and the interior was modern enough. It is literally on the beach, you just have to open the door and walk 10 steps to reach the beach. There are some hammocks outside the chalet which we sat on and enjoyed as well. On the last day, we got up at 6.30am to catch our ferry and watched the most beautiful sunrise. It is also extremely close to our Dive Center (3 mins walk), which was a huge plus. It is in close proximity to several restaurants and resorts in Juara which we dined at. Thankfully, we had pre-empted the insect issue from reviews here and brought our own portable insect net, which I would highly recommend for anyone considering to stay here. I would stay again if visitng Juara as the chalet provides great value for its price!
On the last day of our stay, the hot water was intermittent while showering for over 1 hour. It was more often off than on. Unfortunately, we had to shower in cold water after a long day of diving. We tried to contact the host but she was unavailable. We made do and managed to shower anyway. Another issue are the flies that are attracted to light at night. On the last 2 nights, due to eminent rain, a swarm of flies gathered outside our room as we left the porch light on during dinner. We switched off the porch lights and went into the room, but the light from inside the room made the flies swarm in from the window and under the door. We had to use our belongings to block the slit under the door and switched off the room lights entirely while using our phone lights to stop flies from swarming in. It was quite an experience but still tolerable for us. We also had zero wifi during our whole stay but we had e-sims so it wasn't a big issue. For those who want to do work/ need wifi, do take note of this.
We had such a perfect time on Tioman Island and are so glad we chose the Cempaka Chalets. It's next to the beach, which is beautiful, very natural, no rubbish, peaceful, golden sand, really feels like paradise there. Also Juara was for us the perfect spot because it's easy to access by car but still very chill and quiet, no big hotels or parties, surrounded by the jungle with lots of activities to do if you want. We also didn't have a problem with sand flies in July, we were even laying on beach and didn't have bites. The absolute highlight were the turtles there: we could attend a turtle laying eggs in the night thanks to Wan and also saw small turtles crawling into the sea in the morning. Such a special experience. The room had everything we needed, although I recommend bringing a mosquito net just to be safe in the night. I was hesitating how we would like Tioman, so we booked only 5 nights but I could have stayed a month there. It's so beautiful and relaxing there and the people are super nice, especially Wan and his wife. They definitely have there heart and their spirit in a good place. Thanks for your positive energy!!!

Traumhaft schöne Lage.
Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig ausgestattet Sauber und bequem, mit Klimaanlage.
Alles bestens für einen wundervollen Aufenthalt auf Tioman.
Das Ehepaar ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir würden wieder hier her kommen und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

The host was very nice with us, he got a few coconuts for us just right when we arrived. Next day, after talking to him for snorkeling, he gave to us a high price was (we had to pay for 6 adults instead of the price for our family: 2 adults , 3 kids). We refused the offer and we didn't see him again. Not nice :(
Chalet joliment décoré. Emplacement idéal pour le calme et juste en face de 2 bons restaurants. Le chalet est en front de mer en face de la plage. Si vous avez besoin d'un taxi pour rejoindre Tekek, n'hésitez pas à demander à la propriétaire qui tient le restaurant en face. A mon humble avis le chalet est situé dans la meilleure partie de la plage de Juara.

I had a knocked on the door and Marina's husband told me that there was a turtle laying eggs on the beach, I ran out along the beach, a few minutes later he came with his bike and gave me a lift to where the turtle was nesting. Such an amazing experience.
Spacious and clean.
The Aircon didn't work on the first night. We booked 5 nights but were given only 2 days of bottled water. When asked why, the answer is this is it. This is not how it should work.
