No parking to suit our car, was also under renovation whilst staying

The pool wasn’t open and we weren’t keen on the alternative public swimming pool.
The pillows were hard and air conditioning noisy.
A bottle of water in the room was not complimentary.

King bed had centre bump/hollow; breakfast organisation needs work- reserved tables for 9 were unavailable at 8am and so many couldnt be seated- placing a time card on the table could have helped- manager was out of line when berated staff on this when they were trying their best to help.

Bathroom was terrible, mould in the shower and bath, toilet roll and wardrobe broken, no balcony furniture. Very disappointing

I stayed here over 6 months ago noting that the pool area had been closed for upgrades, however nothing more has been done. Are the upgrades being completed??
Minor issue with housekeeping in that we returned to the room quite one afternoon and the room had not been attended to. We had left the sign on the door for the room to be tidied when we left in the morning. When the ladies knocked on the door I was surprised to be quizzed on what we wanted done?? I replied that fresh towels would be sufficient but it felt like quite an impost on one of the ladies. Also quizzed on what the burning smell was to which I replied the iron… further explained that it could not hold water and leaked. She did make arrangements for the iron to be replaced - thank you.

The hotel is a large beachfront property in Scarborough with undeniable potential. Unfortunately, customer service at reception is consistently below expectations. From arrival to check-out, the attitude was generally cold, unwelcoming and not guest-oriented.

I arrived early, fully aware of the 3:00 pm check-in time. While I did not expect immediate access to my room, communication was poor and courtesy lacking. The room itself was comfortable, with an excellent king-size bed, and breakfast was very good.

The assigned room was on the 12th floor, which effectively corresponded to a much lower level .
The side sea view was rather limited; although consistent with the room type booked, a higher and more central room would have improved the experience (this may not have been specified in my Booking.com reservation).

The most disappointing experience occurred a couple of weeks later. I returned to Scarborough Beach by car and parked in the hotel’s underground car park, where an hourly rate list is displayed at the entrance. After approximately 90 minutes, I could not find any payment machine, so I went to the reception desk to ask for assistance.

Once again, the attitude was abrupt and unhelpful. I was simply directed to a QR code to complete the payment independently. After entering my details, the system charged me a flat rate of AUD 25 for 24 hours, despite having parked for little more than one hour. When I returned to reception to query this, I was told curtly: “It’s a flat rate.” No explanation, no flexibility, and no attempt to handle the situation with basic customer care.

A real shame, as the hotel’s location is excellent, but stronger professionalism and customer focus are clearly needed.

The amenities were disappointing. The gym is terrible--minimal weights, old and rusty equipment.
Pool was under construction and the city pool was busy with lessons and lane swims so not really a great alternate option.

Outdated. Half done up and half of it still old. Bathroom really outdated and needs a renovation. Room was also filthy on the outside it looked clean but there was splashes all over the walls, I think it was drink or food. Dust everywhere especially behind the bed and on the lockers.
