The Bankhouse Retreat was an odd place to stay. The exterior buildings were gorgeous, which was a significant contrast to the lackluster shower and toilet. I was the one and only guest on the entire property during my stay, which felt a little bizarre. They don’t have a traditional restaurant at the venue, but they do have a chef who will prepare meals for you. The venue was overpriced, but the staff were incredibly kind, albeit nonplussed at times. Karen is supposed to be a safer area of Kenya for western tourists, but it has limited amenities that are within walking distance.
