Ein traumhafter Ort mit direktem Strandzugang.
Pros:

Die Unterkunft war ein absoluter Traum. Wir sind als Familie angereist und haben hier drei wundervolle Tage verbracht. Wir hatten eine große zweistöckige Wohnung mit tollem Blick aufs Meer und großem Balkon. Sie war sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr geräumig. Das Personal war super freundlich, sehr hilfsbereit (haben uns sämtliche Tuck Tucks organisiert. Der Fahrer war einfach auch klasse!) und waren total Kinderfreundlich.
Der Strand (mit eigenen Strandliegen) direkt vor dem Hotel ist super schön und weitläufig.
Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und auf Wunsch wurde uns auch ein srilankesisches Frühstück serviert.
Ein Ort den wir absolut weiterempfehlen können.

Cons:

Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und ab und zu hat es etwas modrig gerochen aber nichts desto trotz war es dort einfach genial, allein wegen der tollen Lage.

the accomodation was very dirty and full of mold, we asked for new rooms first they said they have free rooms, after a longer disscution they told us they do not have other rooms to accomodate us, they were very unfriendly and didnt want to gave us the money back, but they also didnt want to find a compromise a find a solution for our accomodation, we left the same night because of the mold. the rooms we had didnt even have windows with glas just some wood, it was dirty, dead insects inside next to the bed, no warm water. i do not reccomand!!!!!!!!!

Loved the accommodation. My room looked out the pool and then the beach. Loved falling asleep to the crashing of waves.

Great stay
Pros:

The fantastic location on Mawella beach. My room opened on the pool and you could hear the waves. The staff were all so kind friendly and accommodating. The food we had was beautiful the fish dinner and both breakfasts. We really appreciated the Sri Lankan breakfast. Thanks to Ashan for the fantastic cocktails. They made our day of relaxation so much better. Rooms were very clean and the A/C was great. Beautiful beach to walk on with a few more options for food and drinks.

Cons:

More seating outside under the trees. It was quiet so not a major issue for us. There was a covered open air lounge that we did not use

Fijne accommodatie voor een verblijf direct aan het strand
Pros:

De locatie van Esparanza Beach was echt fantastisch; direct aan zee gelegen met een van de mooiste stranden die wij hebben gezien tijdens onze reis door Sri Lanka. Je loopt zo van je accommodatie het strand op en kan 's ochtends meteen het water in voor een duik. Er is een zwembad en er zijn ligbedjes (op het gras binnen het terrein van de accommodatie, niet op het strand) Het is een kleinschalige accommodatie, wat wij prettig vinden, waar wij uiteindelijk de family suite met 2 verdiepingen en een balkon met uitzicht op zee kregen, die mooi en ruim is. Het bed beneden was lekker breed. De periode juli/ augustus is rustig in dat deel van Sri Lanka en er waren toen wij er waren 1 groepje andere gasten. Ontbijt was prima. Wij verbleven er 3 nachten. Zoek je een lokatie direct aan het strand, dan is deze de moeite waard. Op doorreis naar de volgende bestemming moesten we op zoek naar een opticien voor lenzen voor onze dochter die vergeten was reservelenzen mee te nemen, de eigenaar was zo vriendelijk om voor ons een opticien op de route te bellen zodat het klaar lag toen wij er langs kwamen. Het is wat afgelegen en je bent wel afhankelijk van tuktuks om ergens heen te gaan, er zijn geen winkeltjes oid op loopafstand. De eigenaar kan vervoer voor je regelen. Als je eigen vervoer hebt, is het helemaal top. Wij gingen geregeld met de tuktuk op pad, bijvoorbeeld naar Hiriketiya waar het wat levendiger is. Je kunt ook naar de doorgaande weg lopen en daar op een local bus stappen wat we ook wel een keer gedaan hebben.

Cons:

Er is her en der wat achterstallig onderhoud (geen hele grote zaken, maar bijvoorbeeld het koelkastje op onze kamer deed het niet, er was een kledingkast, maar slechts 1 hangertje, bij het opendoen van de gordijnen om van het uitzicht te genieten viel de gordijnrailing eraf (wat overigens gemaakt werd), de eigenaar is ermee bezig en zegt open te staan voor feedback als je tips hebt. De menukaart was toen wij er waren heel beperkt en nogal prijzig, waardoor we op 1 Sri Lankaanse curry voor lunch toen we aankwamen na, verder niets meer gegeten hebben daar (het bleek 3 x zo duur dan alle andere verse curries die we tijdens onze reis gegeten hadden, dat viel ons wat tegen). Toen wij er waren werden er geen frisdranken verkocht in het restaurant, wat onze pubers jammer vonden. Wel vers gemaakte icetea. Wellicht verandert de menukaart nog, de eigenaar was nog volop bezig aanpassingen te maken bij de accommodatie.

good value and an amazing location
Pros:

the food was very good here, and the location is perfect. the staff are very friendly. We particularly enjoyed the gin cocktails, and the spicy prawns!

Cons:

the rooms would benefit from a little TLC, but they are clean and comfortable.
