The owner kindly picked us up from the station to the guesthouse in his tuk-tuk. He is often nearby if you need any help or have a question/need an advice, which feels especially nice in a world where in many countries it has become common to simply leave keys in a coded box and have no personal contact.
The guesthouse itself is thoughtfully equipped - it has absolutely everything you might need. The atmosphere is cozy and aesthetic which is probably already clear from the photos. As an art historian I enjoyed spending these days surrounded by paintings and other artworks in the guesthouse.
The terrace is, in our opinion, the best in Altea: the views are absolutely breathtaking, with mountains, the sea, and the white houses with the church in the distance.
My husband and I stayed for five nights in the smallest room of the guesthouse. From the photos, it wasn’t entirely clear how small it would be, but in reality it was absolutely comfortable. We had plenty of space. The bathroom was also spacious, with a shower that worked perfectly. There are both a ceiling fan and air conditioning in the room.
We saw the other guests occasionally, but we hardly crossed paths, so everyone had plenty of privacy and nobody disturbed anyone.
The owner’s cat is lovely - he minds his own business, doesn’t seek attention, and didn’t cause any allergy although my husband is normally allergic to cats.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at this guesthouse in calm and beautiful Altea!

Guest House Bellaguarda is a fantastic place to stay in Altea. The location is excellent, offering a beautiful panoramic view over the town and the Mediterranean, while still being within easy walking distance of everything worth seeing. What truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding care and communication from the owner - Georg who was always friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Comfortable accommodation, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality - everything you need for a perfect stay in Altea. Highly recommended!

Generös värd, väl utrustat och att man fick tips om vad som vad värt att se och göra. Fick låna badskor vilket uppskattades mycket både för den fräscha stenstranden( runda stenar) i Altea och utflykten till vattenfallen och badet/ upplevelsen i Algar. Vi bodde i bästa rummet högst upp och nyttjade den fantastiska takterrassen för frukost och kvällar. Georg fixade givetvis skugga åt oss då med stort parasoll.

George is the perfect host. Whenever you need him, he is there. He has the most wonderful collection of Chinese art. I slept in room completely decorated with the best art. Besides that, I was so lucky that my stay coincided with a neighbourhood festival with music en free paella in front of the house. The house is located in the historical centre and has a very cosy rooftop terrace with a marvellous view. It was my second stay and I will be back! Thank you George!

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wirklich perfekt. Man ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß in der Altstadt, am Meer und bei vielen Restaurants, gleichzeitig ist es ruhig genug, um entspannt zu schlafen. Für uns war es ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um Altea, die Küste und das wunderbare Hinterland in den Bergen zu erkunden.
Wir hatten das Studio mit Meerblick, das großzügig geschnitten und sehr angenehm eingerichtet war. Die tolle Zimmeraussicht hat besonders morgens und abends zur entspannten Atmosphäre beigetragen.
Besonders erwähnen möchten wir Georg als Host. Seine sehr nette und herzliche Art hat den Aufenthalt wirklich angenehm gemacht. Er hatte immer gute Empfehlungen parat und tolle Tipps zu Restaurants, Stränden und Ausflügen in der Umgebung. Man merkt, dass ihm das Wohl seiner Gäste sehr wichtig ist.
Insgesamt eine perfekte Unterkunft mit viel Charme und einer persönlichen Atmosphäre. Für uns eine klare Empfehlung!

Das Guesthouse war sehr liebevoll und persönlich eingerichtet - Typisch spanisch und gemütlich einladend. Sauberkeit einwandfrei! Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Dachterasse, von der man einen atemberaubenden Blick über die gesamte Stadt und das Meer genießen konnte. Gastegeber Georg lief uns ab und an in der gemeinschaftlichen Küche über den Weg und man konnte sich sehr nett unterhalten, aber auch jederzeit zurückziehen. Er war überhaupt nicht aufdringlich, bot uns sogar an, wir dürfen uns beim abendlichen Grillen gerne anschließen. Die anderen zwei von Gästen bewohnten Zimmer sowie deren Gäste sind uns nicht negativ aufgefallen, wir bekamen sie quasi nie zu Gesicht. Danke Georg - für die Gastfreundschaft, die netten Gespräche und dein Know-how beim Kochen und beim Grillen (das kann er besonders gut!) wir kommen gerne wieder!

What an amazing 5 days! I booked this stay on account of the location, the quirky nature of the property and the glowing reviews of Georg’s hospitality - and none disappointed!

Upon arrival in Altea Georg collected me at the bus stop and took me to his place on his Tiktuk. We arrived at the stunning guesthouse in the best location in town and he showed me round. There is a full kitchen to use with fridge space, appliances, spices, cooking oils, cutlery, crockery and glasses and a dining table that seats 8 (I think!), although I preferred to eat on the roof terrace.

The room was clean and cool in late May but has the benefit of air conditioning if travelling during the hotter months. The room is decorated in a very personal way with handpicked accessories decorating the room. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well. The bathroom had a very decent selection of toiletries and the shower was powerful and easy to control both temperature and pressure. The lighting was excellent for doing make up - I am often let down by this in other establishments.

There are 2 terraces to enjoy: the front terrace is a cute shaded area with beautiful flowers and a bistro set, I sat here with Georg for an hour one evening as his neighbours passed by for a chat. The 2nd terrace is on the roof, which has panoramic views of mountains and sea as well as the higher part of the city and its beautiful church. I spent as much time as I could up here, my favourite time being when the sun was lower and a breeze came in from the sea. Watching the birds fly over the sea and listening to the distant church bells with a glass of wine is just heavenly.

Georg couldn’t do enough for me, he helped me with dining recommendations, where to buy fresh fruit and veg, fresh bread and groceries and was also available for a chat whenever we crossed paths.

Perfectly situated with lovely views from the rooftop. With a very interesting collection of Art and other unique items.

Es war wirklich aussergewöhnlich. Da die 1a eingerichtete Küche von allen Gästen und dem Hausherr genutzt wird, trifft man sich immer wieder am großen Tisch und kommt ins Gespräch. Sehr schön ist auch die Dachterrasse, die einen wunderbaren Rundumblick ermöglicht und auf der man den Tag nach einem Urlaubstag gemütlich ausklingen lassen kann.

Georg is one of those rare finds in this world. Hes beyond accommodating, genuine, germanily authentic, will sit down with you for a wine and hear your life story, and offer you his homemade soup after a long journey to get there.

The rooms are spotless and the beds are so comfortable. The rooftop terrace is a zen moment.

I’d absolutely would love to come back here in a heartbeat.

Alles is aanwezig in de gezamenlijke keuken. Het ontbreekt aan niets.Georg is een goede kok, specialist in de Azatische keuken!
De transfer naar je auto ( parkeerplaats) met de tuk -tuk is prima verzorgd en leuk!!
Diverse goede restaurantjes in de buurt.
Volgende keer weer!!
