Great breakfast and service, stuff was very friendly.
We loved the villa which had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a nice kitchen, and a private pond. Great jungle stay

If you’re looking for a truly unique experience in Habarana, this is the place to be. From the very beginning, everything exceeded our expectations. Aruna, the owner, went above and beyond by personally picking us up from the airport and driving us all the way to the property—a journey of around six hours.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly staff, Sanjay and Shashika, who made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. We mentioned our allergies in advance, and they took great care to prepare food that was completely allergy-free—everything was fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious.

The property itself is stunning and unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before. One of the highlights was the open-air bathroom, where you might even find monkeys popping by to say hello while you get ready for the day—an unforgettable experience!

I had planned to propose to my girlfriend during our stay, and the team truly made it magical. They suggested an even better location than the one I had in mind, and later that evening surprised us with a private, romantic dinner under the trees—it couldn’t have been more perfect.

We were also shown around the local sights by the wonderful Sarat, who made the experience even more special by inviting us to his family home. There, he gave us a cinnamon-making demonstration and shared fascinating insights into the local history and wildlife.

On our final day, Aruna and Shashika presented us with a beautiful moonstone gift and a framed photo of us from the proposal—such a thoughtful and touching gesture that left us genuinely overwhelmed.

Leaving Hornbill was bittersweet, as we truly felt like we had found a second family in Sri Lanka. This is an experience we will cherish forever. Thank you all for such an unforgettable stay.

Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns jederzeit geholfen wo sie nur konnten. Wir fühlten uns stets sehr wohl und es gab sogar jeden Morgen ein amderes Frühstück. Wir würden jederzeit wieder ins Hornbill Forest kommen.

Wat een toplocatie midden in het regenwoud. Ook de medewerkers waren superaardig. We hebben een hele fijne ervaring gehad en missen deze plek nu al!

Ab der ersten Sekunde fühlten wir uns absolut wohl! Das Personal ist eine 12/10! Einfach überragend!
So herzlich, unfassbar!

Unsere kleine „Ferienwohnung“ war auch ein absoluter Traum! Die offene Dusche mit freier Sicht auf den Dschungel und die Affen morgens war ein absolutes Highlight!

Dann noch der kleine Pool dazu, perfekt!

Superbe séjour dans cette maison. Les hôtes étaient très sympas, ils nous ont proposé les services de leurs amis pour organiser les visites aux alentours en tuc-tuc, à prix plus que correct. Nous recommandons vivement.

Очень приветливые менеджеры каждое утро сервировали прекрасный завтрак на улице, каждый день из 4х что-то новенькое предлагали. Номера - на втором этаже, в каждом домике по два номера, большой и маленький, мы бронировали большой, но из-за накладки персонала два дня прожили в маленьком. Все в окружении деревьев, рядом пруд с лягушками. И Спасибо милым бурундучкам, который в течение дня приходили на балкон и подъедали хлебные крошки и сладкие булочки. Продукты мы покупали в местном "супермаркете", до которого минут 10 пешком вдоль дороги. Напротив него отделение банка с выгодным курсом обмена валюты. Вообще Хабарана расположена на перекрестке дорог, отсюда можно за час-полтора доехать до древних столиц Шри-Ланки Аннурадхапуры, Поллонарувы, совсем рядом крепость Сигирия и пещерный храм Дамбулла, поэтому и был выбран этот город для проживания. А отель из-за большой кухни, на которой есть все, что нужно, даже СВЧ. Интернет - дали листовку с логином и паролем, но ничего не заработало. Хорошо, что нашли под кроватью роутер, на котором было название и пароль). Пару раз все пропадало, по вотсаппу связывались с менеджером и он удаленно перезагружал сеть. В большом номере есть рабочий стол и табуретки, вдвоем разместились вполне удобно. В маленько нет ничего. Uber вызвать здесь проблема, поэтому в первый день договорились с водителем джипа (здесь рядом два национальных парка - Миннерия и второй не помню названия), который нас три дня и возил по крепостям и развалинам. До Коломбо 3,5 часа езды, если что.
При бронировании обязательно берите большой номер с кухней, в маленьком жить можно, но только очень аскетично. Нет телевизора, но нам он и не нужен был.

Die Unterkunft war mitten im Dschungel! Es war wirklich wunderschön und das Hotelzimmer war sehr sauber. Es gab auch reichlich Frühstück und das Personal war super lieb. Wir sind traurig, dass wir gehen mussten, können die Unterkunft nur weiter empfehlen :)

When we arrived in the pouring rain, our first thought was that the place might be overpriced. However, after staying for two nights, we completely changed our minds and realized how unique this hotel is.
​You are living right in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by lush greenery and nature, yet the house itself is very comfortable. The mattresses were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The staff was very helpful and arranged for us safari ride very quickly!:)
​Breakfast is simple, but the fresh papaya juice was absolutely divine. A special highlight was the chipmunks that visited our terrace every day—it added a wonderful charm and a true sense of connection with nature. Due to the weather, we didn't get a chance to use the pool, but I imagine it would be refreshing on a hot day. Highly recommended for nature lovers!"

The staff were exceptional, the location was fabulous, the breakfasts were very good. Highly recommended and very central for trips to Anuradhapura, Danbulla Cave Temple, Polonnaruwa and Ritigal. Highly recommended.
