The staff were nearly all brilliant. The gentleman on reception was so helpful and the lady was friendly and efficient. The lass at breakfast also great.
The location is lovely, and the lawn, albeit a little thread bare was an ideal location.
Two car parks, so no idea where best to park. Limited Disabled spaces. The building is not that disability friendly as everywhere appeared to have steps, or stairs.
Shortages at breakfast. No-one appeared to have responsibility to ensure the Juices and milk were topped up.
Ran out of pastries before i arrived.
Orange Juice was empty as was the milk.
The waitress made it.
near the river
poor bus service
Hotel met bar en restaurant aan de Hadrian’s Wall. Beetje gedateerd maar prima bedden en goede douche. Heerlijk ontbijt en fijne tuin aan de North Tyne.
Niets.
Excellent location with easy access to Roman sites. Perfect base for excavating at Vindolanda. Great food in the restaurant.
The one improvement I might make is allowing customers to purchase a latte from the bar machine in the morning.
The scenery , the Dinner was very good , as was the cooked breakfast offering.
The bed was below my expectations and at breakfast the basics were not good . We ended up having no Coffee as after the Staff had 3 attempts to refill and get the machine working . Staff seemed pulled apart to be fair .
Prachtige plek
Setting was beautiful.
Food service was slow. The hotel was stretched with service staff so tables weren't cleared quickly and orders were slow. All staff worked incredibly hard.
Attentive staff, lovely situation on the river. Good breakfast.
We stayed there for one night during our Hadrian’s Wall walk and had a quiet room with a view of the River North Tyne. The breakfast was very good.
Our dinner order was forgotten, so we had to wait for over an hour – which wasn’t ideal after a long day’s hiking.
Apart from that, the pricing policy wasn’t entirely clear: we’d booked accommodation with dinner and breakfast included, and despite a discount (due to the delayed dinner), we were still asked to pay a little extra (which they then kindly waived). In the restaurant, the waitress couldn’t tell us what was included in the dinner we’d already paid for. I would therefore avoid booking with dinner included if possible.
It's a good location in a lovely area, ideal for touring the area. The garden and lounge/ dining area is all nicely styled, with view of river and relaxing to sit in or outside. The staff are all helpful and polite. Evening meals were good.
The hotel is a bit worn. The gym and pool areas are unavailable. Staffing is hit and miss. Sometimes there are plenty and all attentive, other times very few, breakfast tables uncleared and needing to ask for refills of numerous breakfast items. Final billing was unclear..
Location is fantastic. If you like history and especially Roman Britain, this is the place to stay.
Table service was sometimes slow, at one point a 30 minute wait for drinks. However this was a busy Friday night.
Veldig sjarmerande hotell
Loved the location on the river and the amazing beer garden outside the pub area! The staff were lovely, and this was a wonderful spot to cool off after an incredibly hot walk of Hadrian's Wall. Our room was huge and had two beds perfect since we were two friends traveling together. The bathroom had great water pressure in the shower and was well appointed.
We could have used a fan or something since it was so hot and our room was on the west side of the building getting late day sun.
Being disabled, I was given the perfect room that was only a very short walk on flat ground, from the car park. The walk in shower was level with the floor, you could have used it, if you were a wheelchair user..
Hotel muy bonito y agradable junto al río y al pie del sendero del Muro de Adriano que estábamos recorriendo.
Nos dejamos un chaleco en una de las habitaciones y han sido muy amables para hacérnoslo llegar de nuevo a Mallorca. Muchas gracias
