Pros:

I was there in the down season and had a room to myself despite paying for a shared room. It was very peaceful, with great access to the nature of the area.

Cons:

Someone kept stealing food out of the fridge, but such is life in hostels.

Great price. Great downstairs. Too dirty upstairs. Tiny (unclean) bathrooms.
Pros:

The downstairs common areas were great. Big chairs and tables, very welcoming and communal. The big shared kitchen area would be excellent with a big clean. The hosts idea for hosting veterans is brilliant. Friendly energetic host. Good recommendations.

Cons:

Our upstairs rooms had definitely not been cleaned. The black mattress protectors were covered in dog hair, crumbs and human hair. Either booking.com or the place messed up our booking so we didn’t get a family room with ensuite but got the budget room & shared bathroom (not clean either). Luckily the host gave us the bedding for free but even that had the wet face washer smell. I had to vacuum and clean before we settled in. There was even previous guests medication lying around. At least we had a laugh and it’s given us a funny memory.

Well worth the stay
Pros:

The location and the area was well placed for what we were there for. Tony was great right from the start.

Cons:

The bunk room didnt have showers near it and had to go round to another room to shower/use toilet, other than that the place is great

Non esiste una reception, per trovare il proprietario ho dovuto chiedere ad altri ospiti. Il proprietario si è presentato poco dopo visibilmente alterato, con un forte alito di alcol e gli occhi lucidi. Ci ha rifilato due stanze budget senza lenzuola e asciugamani mentre avevo prenotato due stanze confort complete di biancheria. Alle mie lamentele ha iniziato ad urlare dicendo che la colpa era di Booking perché non era specificato bene sul sito. I bagni a disposizione erano minuscoli e sporchi al limite dell’indecenza. La sporcizia è ovunque in tutto l’ostello: moquette, stipiti delle porte, maniglie luride, polvere ovunque, insetti morti visti su varie mensole. Ogni stanza è invasa da oggetti e cose come se fosse la casa di un accumulatore seriale. La cucina era sporchissima con un cane che ci bivaccava (abbiamo trovato stoviglie morse dal cane). In più abbiamo trovato dei cartelli davanti alla cucina che non ci permettevano di usarla in quanto era in corso un party privato. Non eravamo stati avvisati prima dal proprietario. Mi sono lamentata e abbiamo ottenuto solo che due persone potessero entrare per farci una pasta. Se l’avessimo saputo prima saremmo andati a cena fuori ma vista l’ora tarda nessun ristorante era aperto. Farò una ulteriore segnalazione a Booking in quanto le foto pubblicate sul

Pros:

The location is awesome and people there were very nice and friendly. Rooms and beds were up to our expectations.

Cons:

The host wasn't there at the time of our arrival and since we didn't get our own linens, he instructed us to go to the laundry and get it ourselves. We didn't find all the linens, but made do with what we found.
Parking was full.
Showers are made in such a way they spill water everywhere in the restroom.

Very quiet, peaceful stay at the Manor.
Pros:

Location of property within the village of Kincraig was great. Only 5-6 miles drive to either Kingussie, or the other way to Aviemore.
Tony, the owner was a really nice guy, met me on arrival and then bumped into him at various times of my stay.

Cons:

There wasn’t anything I found that I didn’t like at Forces Manor.
