Magnificent location
Beautiful gardens
Great restaurant
I wish I had stayed longer
The pool is excellent. The location and the view are phenomenal
Ubicacion y piscina, tambien el desayuno, todo perfecto
Beautiful surroundings, nice river view, nature
Expensive food
This is a charmingly small place, yet it's beautiful and completely functional, with everything you need. What really stands out is how consistently kind and considerate the staff are. They truly made my stay here restful, both for my body and mind. I extend my sincere thanks to them.
Due to the recent domestic political instability in Myanmar, I seemed to be the only foreigner staying at the hotel. Perhaps because of this, the breakfast buffet mostly featured local Myanmar cuisine, and I was bit disappointed that there were very few dishes suited to a foreign palate.
I went to bagan with my family and this is the hotel that I stayed in. Thiri Pyitsaryar Hotel has a lot to offer and I will talk about the advantages.
1.it has the best view! Since it is situated near the Irrawaddy river, you can see the pristine blue river on the side.
2.Looks. Looks are also important as for the hotel it covered this category, however they should adjust the air conditioner cuz 26 was too cold.
3.nature. It has this rainforest vibe and there are trees everywhere. I recommend garden view, it is better cuz trees are more seen there.
The water is kind of yellow. Please address why it is yellow. (I had one skin rash but that’s ok)
Bathtub thing (the one where you drain water) is broken at B151.(where we stayed)
Overall the view even made us forget the bad stuff. Very good location cuz it’s near to the famous temples.Food is okayish though. I recommend staying.
🇲🇲❤️☀️🏞
The hôtel ambience is so pleasant that we could feel the serenity of nature during our stay.
We got a chance to enjoy the most astonishing view of the Ayeyarwaddy river with the backdrop of the Tantkyitaung Pagoda, especially at the sunset.
The gardens are well-kept and flowers are in full bloom. The swimming pool is also good and it’s so fresh to swim in the warm pool.
It’s a good idea of placing an electric mosquito repellent with two tablets inside the room. (Pls see in the photo)
The food quality of breakfast buffet is quite good, especially the breads and croissants and danish pastries, in addition to the nice local food.
The F&B staff are very attentive and helpful too. Their service is excellent and it’s not much waiting time when we order room service and they come and clear the soil plates after done.
Found few areas to improve regarding the maintenance such as
- defused bulbs at the balcony,
- bedside control is not working, hence the light bulb at the ceiling cannot be off and it’s quite disturbing our sleep
- safe box is not working and two staff came to fix upon check in
- the water flow at the toilet is not good enough and we have to flash at least twice after the use
- Even no hook is installed for hand spray at the toilet , but it’s just placed in the tank (as shown in the photo)
- the floor decking (pls see the photo of colour off) and some parts of bungalows needs to be painted.
All in all, we had an excellent stay at the hotel.
My recent stay at this hotel was profoundly disappointing and far below the standards expected of a 4-star property.
Upon arrival, we were assigned to the Sakura room, located far from the main entrance. It resembled a budget 1-star accommodation, with visible dirt marks, a generally unclean appearance, and an excessive number of flies around the property, creating a very unpleasant environment.
We immediately requested to cancel our booking and receive a full refund, but the staff refused. Instead, they first tried to charge us extra for an upgrade, and only after our refusal offered one at no additional cost. Reluctantly, we accepted, but this proved to be a mistake. The upgraded room was still substandard, with visible dirt marks, and the bathroom tap produced dirty water, making it impossible to use for even basic needs such as washing or brushing teeth.
The most serious issue occurred when $100 USD was stolen from my girlfriend’s wallet, which had been left in the room while we were at lunch. Although we reported the theft to the police, they were unable to help.
This incident, combined with the unclean rooms, unusable bathroom facilities, excessive flies, and unprofessional service, made this one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. As a frequent traveler familiar with true 4-star standards, I would not rate this property higher than 1.5 stars.
I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel until significant improvements in cleanliness, security, and customer service are made.
Architecture, location and a wonderfully trained staff.
Bathroom needs a little renovation (bathtube needs improvement) and the water in the pool was very warm..
Everything was perfectly 👌
Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort is a beautiful place where I truly enjoyed my stay. What I loved:
• Stunning surroundings – The garden and river view are breathtaking. It’s an absolutely amazing sunset location.
• Peace and comfort – The hotel is quiet and relaxing, perfect for unwinding.
• Attentive staff – Very kind and helpful, always quick to assist.
• Nice breakfast – Tasty food in a lovely setting.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place with one of the best sunset views in Bagan!
The setting is amazing . Beautiful gardens , extremely large pool and very peaceful . The staff are very attentive and very helpful .
We did book a double room which is actually called Sakara Inn . This is an annex of the actual hotel so you are about 400 metres from reception. Hence it costs much less than the villas / rooms based close to the main hotel. Felt this wasn’t clear from the website . You did have use of all the facilities though . The room was quite basic , drains did smell and the sink was cracked which I felt was overpriced for what you got . The main attraction is the facilities, grounds and amazing staff.
