Terrible
Pros:

The location of the hotel was good.

Cons:

There was no detailed cleaning in the room. The pool was across the road outside the hotel. There were only eggs and a few slices of fruit for breakfast. There was a strong smell inside the hotel. It may smell like food.

Great, central stay in Van Vieng. Scooters, tours, coffee and restaurants nearby’
Pros:

No frills stay in Van Vieng! Host was nice and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Room had friendly ants but it’s no problem. Our city view room had a porch and view of the mountains too! Pool across the street.

Cons:

If you need new and updated this isn’t for you but this is a budget stay

Great little family run property in a good location with a great view!
Pros:

Don’t let the exterior put you off, the view from the upstairs balcony was incredible- we were able to watch the balloons and paramotors fly by. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice - biggest refrigerator we’ve seen in a hotel. There were plenty of shelves and places to hang things and there was a desk with chairs. The AC worked great, especially when paired with the fan. The bathroom had no partition for the shower - normal for SEA. The breakfast was simple but good. The staff was very gracious and welcoming.

Cons:

The pool - at least there was one - was at the property across the street. It was missing many tiles in the bottom and sides. It looked a bit dirty, but I did see someone cleaning it the mornings. It’s very dusty there in February/March/April, so it’s probably impossible to keep pristine. There also wasn’t much seating around the pool.

Hat unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt
Pros:

Die Damen am Empfang ist sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns alle unsere Aktivitäten (Roller, Ballonfahrt, Para-Motorgliding, Kajaktour) und den Weitertransport nach Thakhek sehr zuverlässig gebucht! Toller Ausblick von der Dachterrasse auf die startenden Heißluftballons, den Sonnenaufgang und die Berge.

Cons:

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und man kann fast sagen runtergekommen. Alles ist sehr abgenutzt und alt. Zwar ist der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse fantastisch, aber die Dachterrasse selbst ist ziemlich ungepflegt und lädt nicht ein, dort länger zu sitzen. Der Balkon des Zimmers ist sehr schmal, ziemlich ungepflegt und man kann dort nicht gemütlich sitzen. Unser Zimmer mit Bergblick befand sich im ersten Stock. Da sich unter dem Hotel ein Restaurant befindet hat man oft den Küchengeruch im Zimmer. Das im Zimmerpreis enthaltene Frühstück ist ziemlich geschmacklos. Die Terrasse im Eingangsbereich des Hotels, auf der man frühstücken kann, ist ebenfalls total veraltet. Die Sitzmöbel sind wackelig und extrem abgenutzt und man muss aufpassen, sich die Hose nicht an einem Nagel einzureißen. Ein Loch im Terrassenboden ist nur mit einem Teppich abgedeckt. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit Bergblick gebucht, bekamen aber ein Dreibett-/Familienzimmer, das mit den Betten so vollgestellt war, dass man sich kaum umdrehenden konnte. Nach der ersten Nacht konnten wir das Zimmer tauschen, es war trotzdem nervig, wieder alles einpacken zu müssen. Alles in allem würden wir diese Unterkunft leider nicht weiterempfehlen, obwohl die Dame am Empfang (wahrscheinlich die Besitzerin?) sehr nett und hilfsbereit und die Aussicht wirklich fantastisch ist.

Right place, kind staff but totally worn out
Pros:

Spacious room and the Mountain View was nice. Forget about the riverside, it’s just a little hidden mud stream

Cons:

Unfortunately everything was totally worn out though no exception in Laos

Such an amazing stay here with activities to do everyday, couldn't recommend more.
Pros:

The location was perfect, very central so everything was walking distance. The lady at reception (Na) was so helpful with booking activities - she made the stay a 10/10, don't know what we would have done without her. :) We also had to stay an extra night and this wasn't a problem at all for Na to organise this for us. We were so grateful.

Cons:

The wifi was quite on and off but of course only a minor issue. I did have a laundry service done and unfortunately my white shorts came back discoloured but that was an issue on my behalf, Na also gave me a full refund (and more) as an apology which was very generous of her.
