Everything! I would rate this property and staff with a AAA Attentive staff - always welcomed with a smile. Attention to details from design to informing of local activities and finally…Amazing location with stunning views of Loch Rannoch.
We thought we had booked a room with two single beds. However, when we checked in, we realised we had mistakenly booked a room with a queen bed.
The hotel was fully booked, but the manager spoke with us and said he would do everything he could to arrange two single beds. He apologised for the inconvenience, even though the mistake was entirely ours, and offered us drinks from the bar while we waited.
This was exceptional customer service and really made a difference to our stay. We were extremely impressed with how they handled the situation and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staffs lack of knowledge over what the vegetarian options were. Lack of consideration over the fact we where dining with a, toddler so ideally her meal should have been prioritised over ours. Child's meal larger than that of adults. Staff shortage meant staff where unable to provide the expected high service. This resulted in us not using the, dining area for the rest of our stay. Also was not clear that swimming pool was not at the same property as, the room so again difficulties with a toddler.

No lift for us older peeps, booked an accessible room only to be upgraded to a Highland suite as a favour. However we can’t do the stairs, our holiday was a wee bit fraught going up and down stairs over. 3 days. However been coming here since 1968 as a child with parents and nearly every year since and can’t complain about the rejuvenation of the Dunalastair from its previous recent incarnation
Thank you for an exceptional stay. A fantastic team, from the staff in the restaurant who were fabulous and clearly wanted us to have a great experience, to specifically Victoria on reception and Nick in maintenance. Victoria made sure our stay was memorable and Nick who went out of his way to help when my bike had some tricky technical issues. We loved our stay and look forward to seeing everyone on our next visit. Many thanks

Beautifully presented
The hotel is generally clean. The staff at the restaurant are great, very friendly. The reception area is nice.
The suite that we had been allocated smelled like damp, mould and sewage. We requested a move but the hotel said that it could not be done. We stayed one night but left the stay early as the smell was overwhelming. The hotel said the would reimburse because of the smell. Booking.com have now contacted to say the hotel is not responding.
In terms of accessibility, there is no lift in the hotel, lots of 2/3 stairs up and down to navigate the ground floor.
The spa is not in the hotel. It is in a hotel that is a 2/3 minute drive. I did not think that was clear during booking process. I found it eventually when I looked retrospectively. The spa looks like it has never been cleaned. There is literal dirt on the grates around the pool and the tiles are severely worn and dirty. The entrance to the spa is nice, staff were nice too but the pool area is in severe need of a deep clean. It was so dirty that we handed the towels back and left. I understand things can get old and it’s difficult and expensive to replace tiles etc but there is no excuse for the dirt. Cleaners are clearly not getting paid enough or provided with enough hours to maintain the area properly.

Properly exceeded expectations. The food was delicious and immaculately prepared. Top marks on cleanliness, decor, and comfort. The best aspect were the staff. They became friends during my stay. I already miss them. Perfect weekend, I'd come back in a second.
I liked everything. There is nothing I can pick out that wasn't well throughout out and delivered.
