Well worth a stay.
Pros:

Great location, nice bar and clean rooms.

Cons:

Drinks were a bit pricey and the buffet style breakfast was a bit cold. The day before it was cooked to order and much nicer. Bed was a little firm.

Breakfast not good had to wait ages to be seated.. certainly not 4*. Very tired in places. Stair carpet needed a good hoover. My friends shower in her room nearly flooded as not draining.

Ok but the dog incidents ruined our experience

Lovely location and rooms

Cons:

When we arrived there was a family checking in with a very noisy barking dog. They were not given any restrictions for the dog. When we went to have a drink in the bar the dog was allowed to run all over the seats and was making a lot of noise. We left the bar area as soon as this started. Which was a shame because we were enjoying our drinks before that.

Pros:

Excellent location, come a go with no trouble at all, relaxed feel about the.place, loved it. Food is good and service is excellent, had a little delay with evening meal but must have had some unexpected staffing issues.
