The place is very clean and service was great
The city cut out the water so it spoiled the experience for us.
This place is a scam not real
The room was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable. There was an electric frying pan, which doesn't show in the photos, so we were able to cook and eat well. Ligia was very sweet and offered to store our luggage since we arrived early. She moved it to our room while we were out sightseeing and it was all ready when we returned.
Security was top notch! I felt very safe there and leaving things in the room was not a worry.
Location is also excellent, as you're just a couple of blocks from the best sights in the area and there are walking streets everywhere. It was a real pleasure to stay here.
There was body gel provided, but the shampoo section of the bathroom containers was empty.
The TV had broken lines across it, which wasn't a big deal, because we didn't really watch TV. The app for watching movies was also not functioning. Again, not a big deal, because we just watched on my laptop.
New and clean.
The room was large and air condition worked well for both drying up room and our stuff and automatic setting was perfect at night. The hostess there was great and like our mother. We both got sick with colds and she took us to hospital to see doctor. This was after she stops work and waited 3 hours while they did tests and wrote reports for our USA instruction that covers us everywhere. They had a coffee shop next door that was perfect for each mornings for coffee and pastry or breakfast eggs and jamon on a croissant. Bathroom was very nice and she came by every other day to get out garbage. If I ever come back to San Jose this place which was very moderately priced
It was very hard for taxi driver to find the place. He picked us up at airport and evidently isn't used to downtown streets. It would really help if there was a sign above the place to get inside, put name on glass door and also finalize what their name is and use that at booking.com and other places they may advertise and make sure they get the location and name on Google maps and the map drivers use. We went round and round and finally pulled over to talk to two policemen and after seeing a map that I had marked up showing location they gave us instructions and we were a few streets and a turn away from hostal. The look of neighborhood might scare some travelers but it was safe to walk to corner grocery store and to the main shopping area downtown a few blocks on Calle 3. Once we got a grasp of the numbering of streets we had no problem getting around by walking.
I was able to get back in touch with my spanish language skills from 25 yrs ago living in Mexico City.
