Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Gastgeber, ein hervorragendes Frühstück und eine äußerst saubere Unterkunft. Für unseren Besuch im Sinharaja Rainforest wurde ein Guide organisiert – und er war wirklich außergewöhnlich gut. Auch Fahrten in die Umgebung sowie das Taxi zurück zur Küste wurden problemlos für uns arrangiert.
Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Essen: Das Rice & Curry in der Unterkunft war nicht nur sehr preiswert, sondern auch eines der besten, das wir je gegessen haben.
Eine tolle Unterkunft und perfekte Basis, um den Sinharaja Rainforest zu erkunden. Klare Empfehlung!

If I had to highlight something, it would be the perfect traditional food made by the host. The location, close to the park entrance, allows you to see many animals as you walk in. We were lucky with chameleons and many birds. And Sam, the guide, who was linked to us by the host, showed us the secrets of the rainforest. I was just wondering how it was possible that he could see animals that were hard to recognize, even when he was finger-pointing.

Ontzettend lieve mensen, een hele schone knusse cabin. Een fijn bed. De host gaf goede tips over een leuke theefabriek en een gids voor het park. En de vrouw van de host kookt geweldig. Er is een kaart waar je van kunt kiezen voor hele nette prijzen. Een hele fijne uitvalsbasis als je Sinharaja rainforest wilt bezoeken! Aanrader!

The breakfast they had given us was super amazing.and the meals were delicious and owners wife cooked very tasty♥️.the owner and his wife is super friendly and they are like family members.pleasant environment and the rooms were clean.the view for the room is AMAZING.

Skromy, stary ale przestronny i czysty domek. Widok na góry jest piękny. Atmosfera jest świetna. Śniadania są przepyszne i szczodre, byliśmy pod ogromnym wrażeniem. Bardzo mili i pomocni gospodarze. Gdyby nie córka, która boi się mrówek, zostalibyśmy dłużej.
Świetna okolica do spacerów.
Lokalny sklepik jest bardzo blisko I kupisz w nim najpotrzebniejsze rzeczy.

Great breakfast and dinner. The host organised us a guide (Sam) who took us on an awesome forest walk. We also did a morning bird walk from the accomodation which was nice. Very friendly and helpful. The cottage had a cool woven leaf roof.

The host family was very welcoming and hospitable, generally lovely people. We had the opportunity to enjoy exceptionally delicious sri lankan home cooked meals. The house is about one kilometre from the Sinharaja forest entrance and the hosts helped us find a very good official Sinharaja guide with whom we had a lovely hike/safari in the rainforest. They also helped us get a ride to Neluwa, which is a much better way to get to the house than from Deniyaya.
We would recommend this to anybody who is interested in visiting the rainforest.

The Location is very beautiful, situated in the jungle in a small village. The family was incredibly kind and made our stay feel like home. We had delicious homemade, traditional dinner and breakfast. The house is close to the entrance to Sinharaja Forest and they recommended us a great Guide who spotted lots of animals and showed us many ayurverdic healing plants. I can‘t recommend this place enough :)

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities.

The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

You can ger direct bus from Deniyaya to Pitedeniya. Frequency is less.
