Wunderschönes Hotel und sehr nettes hilfsbereites Personal
Pros:

Der Aufenthalt hat mir sehr gut gefallen,ich war 9 Tage im Hotel und ich habe mich wie zu Hause gefühlt. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist schön nahe am Dalai Lama Tempel. Das Frühstücksbuffet war abwechslungsreich und sehr gut. Das Zimmer hat eine schöne Wandbemalung.

Mooi interieur en leuke locatie

Cons:

Het viel me tegen dat het heel koud was in de kamer, er weinig warm water was en dat het niet heel schoon aanvoelde. Het was ook heel koud in de eetzaal van het restaurant.

Nice place to stay! Location is awesome!
Pros:

The location is a definite highlight, and we really enjoyed the peaceful ambience of the property. The staff were courteous and contributed to a very pleasant stay.

Cons:

A couple of areas for improvement—basic toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste were not available on request. Given that these are simple essentials, including them as part of the service would enhance the guest experience.

Additionally, the complimentary breakfast had limited options for vegetarians. At times, items were not replenished promptly and had to be requested, which took time and reduced the overall dining experience.

Overall, a pleasant stay, and with a few enhancements, it could be even better.

Place parfaite nichée dans les montagne de Hymalaya.
Pros:

L’ambiance tibétaine, la terrasse et le cuisine, la salle du yoga avec vue incroyable sur les montagnes, la situation géographique (on entend les moines chanter), la gentillesse des employés à l’accueil. Le menu est très bien. Belle propreté des lieux. Lieu qui favorise l’échange entre voyageurs du monde. Excellente accueil aveclw lemon ginger tea. Miammm

Cons:

S’assurer de prendre de l’eau bouillie ou embouteillée, même pour une tasse d’eau chaude. Mon amie a été très malade la nuit suivant notre arrivée. Toutefois, la surveillance aurait dû se faire de notre côté pour l’eau.

Unusual and interesting hotel close to the main Temple.
Pros:

Amazing individually decorated rooms with good facilities. Hotel driver Parma is excellent and drives the new car expertly on the difficult roads. Experienced and polite reception staff who speak excellent English.

Cons:

Ask in advance for assistance with bags etc. Don’t just turn up and struggle up the 50 steps to reception! Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful murals in the rooms but overall the hotel felt past its prime.
Pros:

You definitely cannot beat this location in terms of proximity to the Dalai Lama's temple (across the street) - but that proximity also means that you hear chanting throughout the day (starting very early) and I don't know if this is a nightly occurrence but the night I stayed there were dozens and dozens of dogs barking until around 1am. Obviously the hotel cannot control this but I think earplugs should be provided given that even without the dogs, there is the chanting on a loudspeaker which starts around 6am. The murals painted on the walls are indeed beautiful, but you get the sense that the hotel was once grand but past its prime. The size of the rooms are generous, but the facilities including bathroom are quite basic. The restaurant was fine but I wouldn't eat there again and the breakfast buffet was lackluster. I booked a massage which was only decent as well, the hotel does not provide a massage bed so the massage took place in my own bed which was a bit awkward and as anyone who has had massages knows, not easy for a masseur to properly massage you. I only stayed one night but that was also enough, afterwards I moved to an Airbnb a little further away (10 min walk) from Chonor House and was pleased to be a bit removed from the bustle.

Would love to come again!
Pros:

Out first impression was not great: their phone number online and on their website was not updated so we were not sure they were still open!

However, once we were there, the staff was more than helpful. If you want to stay at a hotel with character and culture, this is the place to be. This is not your conventional hotel and you will be surrounded by tibetan paintaings, which is a great way to immerse yourself in it. What we liked the most:

- The staff is very helpful and caring;
- Each room is careful designed with tibetan paintings which give a magical touch;
- Chonor House feels less like a hotel and more like a home.

Cons:

- Not old-people friendly as they have a lot of stairs and no lift.
- Some rooms are a bit outdated and need a bit of revamp; some windows may need a deep cleaning.
- The food may need a bit more variety but they are always there to oblige;

Pros:

Great service, friendly staff and convenient location.

Cons:

It’s preference but beds were too soft. While the property does have new mattress but they were kind to suggest to flip the mattress around.
