Pros:

Hotel Makani exceeded expectations in all the right ways. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was consistent regardless of the time of day, which made a noticeable difference after long days of exploring.
The location is a real highlight: far enough from the main street to stay quiet, yet still walkable to the public beach, shops, and restaurants. It’s that sweet spot that’s hard to find.

The front desk attendant was genuinely helpful and went above and beyond. He connected us to a private ferry service that gave us the flexibility to hop between towns and return to Panajachel after 9 PM, which opened up our itinerary considerably. The hotel also offers unlimited filtered water for the entire stay (somewhere around 15 to 25 quetzales), a small touch that made a big difference.

I was concerned about the lack of A/C but the rooms actually managed to stay comfortable through the night plus there was a fan.

WiFi worked perfectly- was able to do some work before heading out to explore the town.

Cons:

Waking up to a rooster on a few mornings.

Okay, needs improvement.
Pros:

The location of this hotel is down a side street with a lot of empty houses. Did not feel safe. The staff gave a ticket for breakfast at a hotel 5-10
Minutes walk away. The breakfast was really good!

Cons:

Need more lighting, hooks, and side tables in the room. Need more hooks in the bathroom. Was very cramped.

Fine for one night. Maybe just go somewhere closer for breakfast.
Pros:

An acceptable, functional hotel if you're simply staying overnight in Panajachel. No thrills. Nice staff. We arrived well before check-in time, and they had a room ready for us within ten minutes.

Cons:

When booking, I knew the breakfast was served at another location. This turned out to be on the far side of town, further away than I'd been led to expect. The breakfast was very basic, and the most likely cause of the stomach bug I suffered for the next 24 hours.

Locatie was goed. Personeelslid ’s avonds aanwezig was zeer aardig en meewerkend.

Cons:

Algemene hygiëne. Douche vol met haren. Beddengoed was vies en zat vol vlekken. We hebben gevraagd om een andere kamer, dit was beter maar nog steeds onacceptabel.
