Overall, it was a good and affordable stay with a spacious room, great location, and friendly staff,
Pros:

The room was okay and quite spacious, with a balcony. The beds were comfortable.

The location was very good, only about a 5-minute walk to the mall, with many restaurants and food courts nearby, plenty of choices. Parking was easy, but from Monday to Saturday (half day), payment is required via the Sabah Smart Parking app, otherwise you may get fined.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The ambiance was nice, with a museum-like vibe, featuring many statues, especially the eagle at the big staircase.

Room pricing was below RM200, which is very affordable and good value for money.

Cons:

The room had an old, unpleasant odor, possibly from the floor or odor trap. It would be good to invest in room freshener, even an inexpensive one, as it would help guests feel more comfortable.

The toilet amenities were very limited, with only a small bar of soap and a bottle of shampoo provided. A toothbrush was not included. The sanitary plumbing should also be checked, as there was a foul smell at times.

The TV could be upgraded to a smart TV so guests can enjoy more entertainment during their stay.

I was also surprised by the number of power sockets. There was only one socket available, and it was located at the coffee table instead of beside the bed or work table. Adding two more sockets would be very helpful.

Other than these issues, the stay was okay.

On a positive note, the hair dryer provided was of good quality and worked well . definitely appreciated.
The lobby were clean and well maintained. housekeeping did a good job.

Cons:

there were no coffee packets provided in the room, which is a standard amenity in most hotels of this category. similarly, there was no shower gel available in the bathroom, only basic soap and shampoo conditioner, The only teaspoon available was a plastic one, the tea spoon quality felt too flimsy or weak, and not sturdy enough to stir hot drinks comfortably. A proper metal teaspoon would be more appropriate and appreciated.
a faint but noticeable smell in the room, which affected the overall comfort, wasn't overpowering, feel less fresh.
There is no breakfast was included which was disappointing as many hotels offer at least a basic morning meals.
