Pros:

The breakfast spread was very good. Very apt for a morning meal. The waiters are very pleasant and helpful. The environment is clean and neat the service when asked is provided with a smile.

Time and money well spent
Pros:

very good traditional hotel. Staff are simple and very effective. The checking in was smooth, room was given immediately and basic requirements were fulfilled.

Nothing. It is a value for money hotel. quite conveinent interms of location with a very good vegetarian restaurant that is reasonably priced

Disappointing Stay: Poor Service and Unjust Breakfast Charges

I have stayed at Bharat hotel several times and been visiting this hotel past 30 years. This time I booked the hotel from 13th till 16th March which included breakfast.

While check in I was told my room includes breakfast. When I arrived for breakfast on the 14th, none of the hotel staff informed me where to have my breakfast and neither told me that I should go to the buffet for breakfast. On the contrary I was charged breakfast for both 14th and 15th. We checked out very early on the 16th and hence we did not have breakfast that day. When I objected this to the reception staff, he very blatantly told me I should be the one asking.

It was only after I said I will complain to booking.com and I need to speak to the manager they offered me a 600₹ discount on the bill. Although for both days they charged me over 1500₹ for the breakfast.

Not happy at all with my stay. Hotel is very old and the staff is unprofessional. No doubt their food is good, but this type of cheating and attitude will not help them last longer.

I wont recommend this hotel to anyone.

Ideal Location and Good Amenities
Pros:

The hotel is in an excellent location—right opposite the Ernakulam Shiva Temple and just a short stroll to the seaside promenade overlooking Kochi Harbour. It’s only 5–10 minutes from Ernakulam Junction Railway Station and close to Maharaja’s College Metro Station, with plenty of amenities nearby.
The room and bathroom were of decent size—basic but clean and comfortable. There’s a kettle with tea/coffee provisions, and they also provide a flask of hot water on request at no extra cost. The in-house vegetarian restaurant and café are very good, and limited on-site parking is available.
Staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a convenient, clean, and pleasant choice in the heart of the city.
